The other kids pushed on my door willing for it to open so they could hurt me again. Punish me for being different.

I live in Barley Grove the worst care home in Brighton. The one where all the trouble children end up. The ones who have anger problems or behaviour problems.

Why did I end up here then? I was happily settled into my foster home with Sarah and Pete when they decided to move up country and my foster network didn't allow me to move with them.

I had everything a girl could wish for. A family, a dog, a nice room and huge garden, a group of friends at my nearest public school. Now all that is gone. Instead I have a social worker who is nice but could never care for me like a parent could, no pets to tell all my troubles to, a small room with was empty from any homely touches and no friends. They all lived an hour away and we lost touch just after I moved.

The only thing that comforted me when I was down was youtube. Zoe and Alfie I watched the most, they seemed so genuine and happy together. At least they had each other.

"Brittany get out here now before I come in and get you" Alec screamed. he was the house bully and you never messed with him.

Slowly I made my way towards the door and my hand twisted the handle and the door flew open showing Alec and his little group.

"Right where is it" he asked

"Where's what?" I asked genuinely confused.

"Your savings idiot" he snarled

My savings. the last money I had had from my parents before they died. £200 was a lot for a 5 year old then and still a lot for a orphan. I was keeping it for something important.

"I don't have any money" I lied

"We know you do, we aren't stupid, you're the only one in this house who doesn't waste it on parties or other things"

"You're not getting any of my money" I trembled in my spot

Suddenly he lunged at me grabbing me by my arm and pushing me up against the wall. Pain shot through my wrist as he twisted it behind my back.

"Get it now"

"Okay" I said surrendering

He let go of me and I looked at my wrist. It was bruised an I couldn't move it properly, pain shot through it and I went to bend it.

"Brittany hurry up"

Making my way towards my bed I lifted up the mattress and unzipped the cover. The small envelope which held the money was there in front of me and I felt an impatient nudge on my back telling me to hurry up. My hand grasped the envelope and brought it out from its hiding place. I turn around to face Alec and he snatched it from my hand a wicket grin forming on his face.

"This won't be the last time" he said with a smirk on his face as he ran out of my room with my money. The money that would soon be wasted on him.

I sunk to my floor my head in my hands. Getting bullied on a constant basis was not how I wanted to live. The throbbing pain in my wrist reminded me of the previous times this has happened before. I was his punching bag. All the other kids stayed away from him but for some reason he always seems to target me.

I go into the bath room and run my wrist under the cold tap hoping to cool it down. I then wrap my arm up in an old tshirt acting like a sling to keep the swelling and bruising down. Hopefully my social worker or the teachers at school won't notice tomorrow.

I reach for my phone in the draw on my bedside table. If any of the other kids knew I had this it would be gone and sold on for more money. Even the social workers doesn't know I got it as special privileges aren't allowed unless from permission from head care worker. Lousy rules. I got it from Sarah and Pete as a leaving present. The latest model.

That was when discovered YouTube. The one place I could go to that filled me with happiness. I viewed my newest subscriptions and loaded a new Zalfie video, guess the body part challenge. This would hopefully allow me to forget my problems for a while, I smile as I hear their familiar voices. I would do anything to meet my idols.

Maybe one day soon.
