Life after death

An eerie darkness befalls me, still and malevolent, my conciousness aware, yet my soul lost in somber nothingness, the cold kiss of death resonating on my stale blood soaked lips, time, nonexistant on the fine line between life and death, fear and confusion consuming my consciousness, just as I fear I may succumb to the void, a voice crackles through like thunder piercing the stillness, my grandfather! A familiarity in a place where there is nothing, his words lack pronunciation yet speak volume and as a lighthouse guides the ships at sea, his voice beckons and helps to guide me, my conciousness frantically pushs towards the sound of my grandfather and although it seemed I just stood frozen in fear his voice grew in decibel until... light! Mother! Pain. I awoke in a leaning position only to lose my awareness, I had made it. I'm alive. This is where I bid farewell to an old friend, death. For now. Until we meet again...
