1964-

Wentworth Tozier was what the movies would call the Stoner Wallflower cliche. He smoked a lot of weed and had only a small friendship group. He was a hippie who enjoyed listening to music and reading magazines. He also played the guitar and liked to sing. He has fluffy brown hair, blue eyes and huge glasses that are too big for his face.

Maggie Leigh was the complete opposite. She was popular and didn't like smoking. She didn't drink much and she rarely went to parties. But the one thing they had in common was that they were both hippies. She's pretty, with a doll-like face and curly brown hair. Her eyes are green and her lips are plump.

One thing to know about Wentworth was that he'd been head over heels for Maggie since sophomore year. He wouldn't tell her though, they only really spoke in English. She was obsessed with the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Knowing she loved the book had made Wentworth read it and he could see why she liked it. He didn't read many books but Little Women had been so intriguing to him.

He dances around his room, The Monkees playing very loudly. He sings along to I'm a Believer as he gets ready for the protest he's attending. It's a Free Love protest in the middle of Derry town. Not many are attending because Derry is extremely homophobic, but Wentworth wants to stand up for what he believes in. He tucks a grey turtleneck into some red flannel trousers, sliding a belt on. He attempts to make his hair pompadour but it sprouts straight back out into his fluffy curls. He sighs and walks off downstairs to grab his black bomber jacket and sunglasses.

"Went, don't be out too late." His mother warns him as she tends to his younger brother.  Wentworth is the oldest of two boys and a girl. He has two younger half-siblings. There's Andrew, who's 9 and Wanda, who's 5.

Wentworth was born to Kenneth Tozier and Norma Evans. They'd been really young when they'd had Wentworth, with Norma falling pregnant mid-1945,  the two only being 17 and 18. Kenneth had had to go off to war and had been killed in action five months before his son was born, so Wentworth had never known his father. His mother had married when he was four to a man named Gerald Acaster. So, Wentworth was the only Tozier in the clan, but he was proud of that fact. He considered his dad a hero.

"I won't be out too long and I won't start any fights like last time, I promise. Just gotta keep the peace." Wentworth states, smirking mischievously as he throws up a peace sign. Norma rolls her eyes. Wentworth had always been a wild child.

He rushes off to slip on his shoes before he grabs his keys and his weed. He would drive to the protest, but he didn't know if it would get messy like last time and he didn't want anyone smashing his car up.

When he gets there, he spots Maggie stood with her best friend Frankie Kaspbrak. He's in the popular gang too, despite being a grade below. He's quite a short man, with neatly side parted wavy brown hair and big green eyes, freckles dotted all over his nose. He's wearing a similar outfit to Wentworth, but his turtleneck is white and his pants are grey and he doesn't have a jacket. Wentworth's eyes fall onto the beauty that is Maggie Leigh. She's dressed in orange shorts that sit just above her knee and tucked into them is a floral print blouse. Her brown hair is pulled up into a ponytail, something she doesn't do often. She normally has it down with a hairband in it to keep it from falling in her eyes.

The 18 year old slowly walks over to them, standing beside Maggie nervously as someone passes him a sign. There's probably only about 13 people and they know they won't make progress. But it's worth a shot.

"Hey, you go to our school, right?" Frankie asks and Wentworth nods as they all hold up their signs." Wentworth somethin'?"

"Tozier. Wentworth Tozier!" Wentworth replies, flashing a smile. Maggie giggles slightly." I'm in Maggie's English class."
