"What's the plan?" James asked McCoy who was throwing darts at a dart board. His scotch was on a nearby table waiting for him.
"Drew knows she's alive. When he's well enough he'll come for her. . . or send for her." McCoy threw another dart. It landed perfectly in the middle bullseye. He strolled back to his scotch and took a smooth swig from the glass, slick from condensation.
"We can't risk being responsible for losing her. And Drew will get her. We need to find some sort of way to 'release' her. That way we are not seen as fucking up and Drew can't cause us anymore trouble."
"You don't think he'd come back for the children?" James asked.
"He might." McCoy spoke honestly, another swig. "But there is less of a chance of him coming for them as there is of him coming for her. I am 100% certain Drew will come for her. The kids? I don't know. Either way we have to keep the kids. We are not nearly close to figuring out what is all in them."
James nodded everything McCoy said made sense, but what were thy going to do with her? Where could they send her?
"A half way house, perhaps?" James suggested. McCoy snorted and shook his head.
"Are you kidding? Drew would have your head for that. Right now more than ever we need that bastard to chill out and not cause us anymore trouble."
"So an insane assylum is out of the question. Though that sounds like a good fit for a girl who's gone through all that she has."
McCoy laughed a good heartly laughed. He even had a slight smile on his lips.
"Unfortunately not." McCoy responded.
"Give her to Kirk. He'll hand deliver her to Drew so he won't have to leave whatever hole he's crawled into and we will be done with her." to James this seemed like the logically best solution but by the look of McCoy's tense stature he realized he'd made a mistake in even mentioning it.
"No." McCoy growled. His voice was deeper than James had ever heard it. Like some sort of beast voice. James swallowed and nodded before taking a step back. It was like McCoy's anger was building up like a volcano and he didn't want to be too close once it finally erupted.
McCoy tapped his glass as he stared daggers into the dart board. He was pretending it was Drew Costner's head. An idea came to him and a smile spread across his lips. His smile was scarier than his beast voice. James felt all the hairs on his neck stand up.
"Bring me a list of the New York City policemen. No agents, no detectives. I'll even take a lowly metermaid."
"You're sending her to New York?"
McCoy finished his drink and turned to stare at James with his scary serious eyes. "Get me a list."
James simply nodded and went on his way. McCoy looked back at the dart board and chuckled. It started as a small chuckle and then turned into a full deranged chuckle. He glared at the dart board once again imagining Drew's face and then threw a dart full face into it. He imagined it peircing Drew's eye and blood spewing out everywhere. He laughed as he imagined Drew falling to the floor in agony and dying. He wiped his face with his hand to wipe off the imaginary blood.
"What now Mother Fucker?" he mocked the floor where Drew would be if only he could actually live out this fantasy.
"I'm gonna send her to New York and she'll be dead within a week." he couldn't stop the laughter from coming.
"It's too rich. Your precious beloved Chloe will probably get mugged, raped, beaten, and killed. And you'll just be miserable with out her. Longing for her." he imagined Drew shaking and grunting in pain maybe even trying to cuss at him. This would just egg McCoy on even more.
"Someday I'm going to kill you." McCoy promised. This promise gave him some peace. He straightened his tie and pulled himself back together, but his smile never left his face. He looked like some kind of Joker.Sober now, her ran a hand through his hair and left the lounge to get back to work. Unbeknown to McCoy, Kirk was in an undisclosed location and saw it all on camera.
"Did you get that, Boss?" he asked in the speaker phone. He recieved anevil growl in response.
"Already on it, Boss."
Chloe was escorted out of the building by McCoy, James, and five other security men in suits. Waiting for her outside of the plain chrome building was a man in a red Ford pick up truck.
"Chloe, this is Officer John Reagen. He will be taking care of you." John smiled at her and offered her his hand. She just stared at it. She was uncomfortable and nervous. She fidgeted with the string on her plain gray hoodie she'd been given in the facility that matched her plain gray sweatpants.
Sensing her discomfort he took his hand back and gave her an apologetic smile. "Ma'am," he greeted and nodded at her instead.
"Where am I going?" she asked McCoy.
"New York." McCoy answered and signalled to put her bag in the vehicle.
"How far away is that from here?"
"You know I can't tell you that." McCoy had told her many many times he was not allowed to tell her there location.
"I can't just leave my kids." her voice rose. McCoy knew she wouldn't go without a fight. She opened her mouth to speak again her brow furrowed in frustration. He held a hand up to her stopping her. To his surprise it worked.
"When we are certain that Tyson is safe we will bring him to you as soon as possible." Lie. "But unfortunately like I have told you before, you have know rights to 'Kyle'." He mentally prayed she'd just get in the damn car and go away. But this is Chloe. He saw the fire in her eyes and the sour pout on her face.
"I want my son."
McCoy grabbed her arm tightly causing her to hiss in pain. He pulled her close to him and whispered in her ear in an icy tone.
"Chloe you get in that fucking car or I will sedate your ass and you will be drugged the whole way there."
"No." Chloe answered and tried to yank her arm away. This angered him even more.
"You fucking brat! Get in the fucking car or I will beat your fucking brains in." McCoy growled in her ear this time and shook her. His knuckles were white from squeezing her with all his might.Chloe's eyes stung with tears waiting to roll down her smooth porcelain cheek. Her body was shaking and she now more than ever wished to get in the truck. She'd go anywhere to get away from him. Nodding she hung her head. McCoy released her and composed himself.
"Good girl!" McCoy mocked her and petted her head like a dog. Good Girl. It sent a shiver down her spine. James placed a hand on her lower back and led her to the passanger side of the truck.
"She won't be any trouble for you, John." McCoy said loudly clearly threatening her to be on her best behavior. McCoy gave John a grin. John gave McCoy a phony grin back and a simple nod before hopping into the truck.John quickly started her up and was out of there. A cloud of dust left behind. For McCoy that cloud dust out to be a celebratory confetti cannon. He smiled pleased with himself. Before the dust settled he heard a slow clap behind him.
Slowly he turned around to see Kirk standing there infront of the building doors.
"Well done, McCoy, truly well done." Kirk mocked him.
"What are you doing here?"
"Why? You're not happy to see me?." Kirk laughed. "Are you scared, McCoy? Because you should be." Kirk slowly made his way up to McCoy. The security men and James pulled their guns, but Kirk was unphased.
"You've been warned." Kirk said handing McCoy a fat envelope and then making his leave.
