Author's note: I've written before, by hand and on other sites, but many friends have recommended that I give it a shot here. I am most likely to update randomly, since I can write on my mobile now. Anyway, enjoy!

1. What the Rain Can Bring

Pairing: Thorki

The rain poured endlessly outside. It'd been like this for days. Day and night, the rain never stopped. It'd become Loki's only constant in this miserable place. It had become a comfort, of sorts. Because deep within the now exiled god, it showed that his not-brother was still near, even after all this time and after all he had done.

After being captured by the Avengers and returned to Asgard, Loki had been thrown into prison. The Allfather had taken his time in deciding his adopted son's punishment. Almost two months had passed before the king had come to a decision. Loki was to be stripped of what little power he had left, and banished to Midgard. He would have to live among the creatures he despised so much as to try and take control of their planet.

And that was where he was now. Inside a large home Odin had made Thor purchase, in order for him to have somewhere to live. The Avengers themselves weren't far away, only about 15 minutes. Loki knew the Allfather had planned it like that, though there was really no chance of him doing anything as bad as trying to enslave an entire race. Not as a mortal anyway.

As soon as he had been let in, he'd refused to come out. Refused to try and blend with the wretched landscape of this planet. He was a god, not a mortal! This place wasn't fit for him to live in!

But that wasn't the only thing keeping him in here.

If he went out, he wouldn't just have to deal with the humans. He'd have to deal with Thor as well. And he wasn't sure he could take all the god's questions, his eyes, his laugh, anything!

The truth was, the poor Jötun had been in love with the Aesir since they were teenagers. He hated himself for it. The elder god had never even cared for him as a brother and he had to go and fall in love with him.

Loki pressed his forehead against the cool window, watching the raindrops slide down the glass. It was raining because of Thor. Being the God of Thunder, Thor's mood always had a habit of affecting the weather even on Asgard. The continuous rain showed the god was sad. Probably sad Loki wouldn't come out. But what did it matter? If he came out, Thor would notice him for a bit then go off and play with his superhero friends or that stupid woman Jane.

But something new had been happening the last couple of days. At around the same time everyday, Thor would appear, an umbrella in hand. He would come to the door of the home and push an letter through a small slot in the door. He would then give the place a look that Loki didn't understand. It was sad, but there was something else to it. Something else he couldn't quite place.

The first letter had sat on the floor unopened. Loki had been too afraid to open it. Then a second came. And a third. And soon half a dozen letters lay on the floor in front of the door. Now he couldn't ignore them.

He'd opened the first one and read it. It basically said everything he expected. Why won't you come out? I'm sorry you feel so badly. Please come out. I will do anything. Loki scoffed at this. Yeah right!

But as he read on through the next letters, they became more...emotional. Loki could see where his brother had stopped writing, his tears spilling over. And that broke the pale man's heart, but he still couldn't go outside. The other's affection would only last so long before he took a backseat to someone else, and he couldn't, he wouldn't, do that again.

Loki watched through a crack in the curtains as Thor came to the door and another letter slid inside the slot. But this time, instead of just staying where he was, Loki stood up and went to retrieve the letter. He opened it quickly, and began to read.

'Dear Loki,

The more the days go by the more I miss you and the more I wonder what I did so wrong to cause this. And- wait. Forget that. Forget all the letter's before this. They were lies. They weren't how I really felt. This is how I really feel.

I love you. So much. More than my life itself. I no longer see you as a brother. I don't think I truly ever have. I see you as a friend, and I have hoped, for so long, to see you as a lover. As the person I want to be with all day, everyday. But it has been impossible, with all that has happened. But that could change now, no?

Thor'

Loki's eyes widened as he read. Was this actually happening? He looked around, his breathing picking up. Did Thor really love him? He'd wrote that. But was he lying just to get him to come out of the house? Loki couldn't know for sure. But one thing he did know was he needed to see Thor.

Dropping the letter, Loki threw opened the door. The rain thundered down on the porch roof, but kept the Thunder God dry. His eyes flicked up when the door opened.

"Loki...."

The former god slowly stepped out onto the concrete and closed the door, his eyes locked on Thor's. His heart was hammering in his chest so hard it was beginning to hurt. He swallowed thickly, his throat suddenly dry.

"Is-is it true?" He croaked out, voice small.

Thor didn't say anything for a moment, his eyes studying Loki. But then he whispered, just loudly enough to hear over the rain,

"Yes."

Instantly Loki's mouth dropped open a little. He couldn't believe his ears. Once again he questioned that this was actually happening and he wasn't just dreaming.

He walked forward again, looking up at Thor.

"Please don't be lying to me. I can not take anymore lies."

"I speak the truth Loki..." Thor murmured. He hesitantly raised a hand and placed it on the smaller man's cheek.

Loki immediately blushed bright red, definitely not used to any type of affection whatsoever. After a moment though, he relaxed into the other man's touch.

"I love you. I have for so long. But I had lost hope. I thought I'd never be able to see you again when we went back to Asgard, let alone be able to tell you of my true feelings."

Loki put a hand up, silencing him.

"I forgive you. For everything. None of that matters anymore." He blushed a bit more before standing on his tiptoes and kissing Thor's lips.

The Thunder god kissed back, wrapping his arms Loki's waist and pulling him close.

As the two kissed, the rain slowly began to turn to drizzle, which eventually faded to nothing.

And as the two new lover's pulled away to embrace, the clouds parted and the sun shone through, bathing them it's warmth.
