"DELTACONDA!" Miss Duvette shouted as she dragged me from her limp body, I guess you don't really know the damage you'll cause until it's already done.
I jolted out of my sleep to sweat beading from my forehead "didn't mean to scare you" he chuckled, "no that's fine I must of dozed off" i smiled back at him adjusting myself on the seat, it became silent. He was breathtaking, absolutely gorgeous, never seen anything like him in my life. I was first greeted to with his sweet scent, and admiring gaze.
As I took in the view before me a faint voice broke my daydream "where are my manners, I'm Cedric Diggory, and you are?" I stuttered "D-Daphne Deltaconda" slightly embarrassed that he'd seen me basically drooling over his good looks. "Do you mind if I sit?" He said but was quick to justify himself "all the others are full" he chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his neck.
He inches closer towards me until he was towering over me "I'll take that as a yes then", I shifted in my seat "yeah, sorry I must still be half asleep" I giggled, "don't be so sorry beautiful" I blushed and looked down at the ground.
I felt a slight grip on my chin lifting my head to look him in the eyes. Blimey this boy was beautiful,
"Anything from the cart?" A voice rudely interrupted our moment, he looked at me with the smirk before replying "I think we're all good here", she smiled then walked away.
After a long train ride, we finally arrived at the Hogwarts grounds. I stepped out and bid my farewells to Cedric as we went our separate ways, i stopped to take in the view, it was quite different here from Beauxbatons however I can really see this place becoming my home, that is if I don't get expelled again.
My train of thought was interrupted by a girl frantically trying to get to her friends on the other side of the platform, "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going" she said taking my hand standing up, "don't worry about it" I giggled as she dusted herself off, "are you new? I don't recall seeing you here before" she looked at me with a puzzled expression, I replied "yeah I've just transferred from Beauxbatons" hoping she wouldn't ask anymore questions. Luckily she didn't but instead offered me to go with her to meet her friends "I'm Cho Chang", "Daphne" I said, we shook hands.
We all laughed as we walked through the main entrance into a beautifully lit building. It wasn't long before I got called aside by Dumbledore explaining the situation with the Sorting Ceremony. "Welcome Miss Deltaconda, given your past I hope to see an improvement in your behaviour this year, as you are a talented individual and I expect great thing from you" I smiled and nodded before he entered the great hall to begin the ceremony.
I heard a muffled voice through the door of Dumbledore "welcome back students to yet another year here at Hogwarts, I hope you all had a great time away" I fixed my blazer when he started to speak again "today we're not only welcoming first years but also a fifth year from Beauxbatons, everyone give a warm welcome to Daphne Deltaconda" everyone cheered as the doors swung open showing the Great Hall
As I walked down the middle eyes lingered, people began to whisper. I tried to ignore it but there was one individual I just couldn't ignore, one boy, didn't move when I walked in unlike everyone else, not a single expression was on his face until his eyes met mine, a smirk appeared on his face, I looked him up as down in the return before walking away knowing he was still starring as his eyes burned into my back.
I took a seat at the front and the sorting hat was place gently on my head, it was quite comfortable considering it moved. "Tricky one, a very powerful and unique individual indeed, I see great things" I smiled at my new friends hoping I'd be a Ravenclaw like them, "I think you belong and will achieve the most in.. Slytherin".
The Slytherin table erupted with cheers, as I searched down the table for them eyes I became familiar with. He didn't give up much except a small clap along with his house mates, I made my way over to table and took a seat next to a boy not far from the blonde one.
"Hey I'm Blaise" he said leaning over the table to speak to his friends, I was yet to break eye contact with this mysterious boy, I looked away introducing myself properly to everyone else at the table.
"What brings you to Hogwarts then Deltaconda" I looked up at him, taken back he'd spoke to me, " had some troubles at my old school so decided to start again here" I replied looking deeply into his eyes. "What kind of troubles?" Blaise asked, I was taken back, nervous my past was going to be revealed, "you know just high school drama, boys etc." I heard a snarl coming from his direction.
"So what's your name?" I asked the blonde boy, "I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy" unlike Cedric his gaze was intense, intimidating, i simply nodded "well nice to meet you Draco" he laughed although shocked at what I'd said, the table fell silent and everyone looked behind me, confused I turned to see Cedric stood behind me with a welcoming smile.
"Oh hey Cedric" I said while standing up, "Dumbledores told me I have to take you to your room, so if you will" he said holding out his arm, I grabbed it eagerly and left with him towards my room, taking a final look back at Draco and smiled at him as he looked away.
