Chapter 4 The Arkaene Society

Oliver was confused. He should have realized that there was a secret society operating on the island.
"If the society is on Lian Yu shouldn't I know?" Asked Oliver angrily. "Well, we lived underground. When you guys were being tortured and threatened we were living safely underneath, killing each enemy one by one." Said Alexa as she directed him to areas of the island on the map.

It began to make sense to Oliver. The Arkaene Society had been surviving on the island for eight years, yet no one knew. "What are you guys called?" Oliver walked over to a Kira as he waited eagerly for an answer."
"Reines." Said Kira. She paused for a second. "It is the Greek word for darkness. All of the members of the society have darkness hidden inside of them, including us." Kira thoroughly explained as she grabbed something from her jacket.

"Here. An arrowhead, with Artémis engraved. She is our rock. The goddess of the hunt inspired us to fight for the good, to respect nature, and most importantly to win. The Arkaene Society has been living in an industrialized world. We need to fix the earth and bring it back to its natural state. Full of plants and animals, minimal criminals, and peace." Kira handed over the arrowhead to Oliver, "this our symbol for peace" she said, "and we expect you to treat it like gold." Kira left it Oliver's hand as she walked away.

Oliver was inspired by what Kira had said. He didn't know they were trying to restore freedom and peace in the world. Not only has the earth changed over the last few years, but has reached a point where everything is negative. He wants to continue to defend Starling City, his home, from relentless criminals. And if that means ceasing the demon, then he must at least try. Oliver went through a tough experience on Lin Yu. But he knows that courage and determination are going to keep him strong. He walked over to Alexa, as he thought about what he was going to say. He was hesitant to say something, but the words just came right out of his mouth.

"We need to go back to Lin Yu!" Said Oliver as he sat down ashamed, for what he had said.
