⚠️A/N Trigger Warnings ! ⚠️

This story will include long horse (created by Trevor Henderson, absolutely amazing creator), hair pulling, tension, adrenaline, death, bones (?), body horror, captivity, guns, shooting, blood, gore, swearing, mentions of wanted/implied s*ic*de, and general discomfort. If I missed anything, please let me know, and read at your own discretion.

Sorry for not uploading, I had all the means to, just never had the time and/or never got around to doing it. This one, along with Mrs.Snapneck, which is coming up, are some of the more detailed and interesting ones. Am really excited to publish these :) I also have switched onto laptop for this one, and potentially for the next few, so apologies in advance if anything is out of order or looks funky. Rest of the A/N will be at the end of the chapter, so enjoy for now :)

I don't know what the date, or time was, but it was definitely the future. Not far into it, mainly because I, as well as the rest of the people there were around 17 and 18. Pretty young, but older than I currently am now. Where it all began, was at a T section road. The entire scenery around us was thick forest and trees, no civilization for at least a long while drive. It was foggy, and damp. It had most likely rained over night, and might again because of the sky being a flat and even light gray to it. There were maybe about three, or four cars there. At the time it all began, we were standing outside of them. From what I could see at the moment, only around five or six other people were standing outside of the cars, probably getting ready for what we were about to do. I had recognized somebody there, and I knew him as the friend who had dragged me into this whole thing. I had never been one to do anything daredevil-ish, or anything like that. My friend though, was all for that kind of stuff, and had kept insisting I join in until I said yes.

At the longer side of the T section, there was a yellow gate. Behind it was a long gravel road, contrasting to the longer cement one we had taken to get there. Along down the road was still more forest, no town or people in sight. No restaurants, shops, police departments, nothing. Just a long gravel road leading up a hill to who knows where. The whole forest and place was quiet, but not unusual considering we're in Canada, and places like these were not uncommon. The fact that it was quite though, still made me uneasy.

I walked up to my friend, since he was standing alone and just seemed to be lost in thought as he stared off into the gravel-pathed forest.

"They say whoever goes into this forest never comes back. Not even if you walk a few feet past the gate." He had told me.

As much as I was aware this was true, and we were there to most likely give our lives to the forest and whatever it may hold, I still said to myself that no matter what happens, I'm walking back out here alive. Of course I'm sure that was the same mentality any other victim of the woods said as they walked in, never to return. We had eventually gotten ready for the most adrenaline inducing trip of our lives, and decided to head back into the cars. Someone had to of opened the gate at one point to let us through, because by the time I got back into the car, we were on our way in.

Man were we in for a fucking treat.

We had driven over the hill and had found something we honestly didn't expect. An entire town was here, perfectly intact. All the houses had many decorations, activities, or just random stuff strewn about the places like the people had still lived there. It was dead silent, and not a single living thing besides us had seemed to be there. It was so strange, how so many houses were there. There had to be at least 5,000 houses, maybe even 10,000 from what we couldn't see. The houses were all close knitted, being only a few feet away from another. If you ever needed to, you could most definitely run from house to house with ease. It was a strangely crowded place. It seemed like mostly every person who had once lived there was a hoarder, and had some strange taste in architecture. Things were out on the lawn that would most likely be found inside, looking inside of windows revealed clusters of items within living rooms, bedrooms and even kitchens. None of it made sense. Why were there so many houses here, clearly at some point lived in, as well as nobody even being there? We really did try and find anybody, but nothing came up. Another thing that had concerned me, was why here? There is no school, shops, police departments, anything else around for miles. It would be impossible for a town this size to have had any sort of consecutive residency, as well as a good functioning community. I wasn't alone with my concerns, because like any other human being, nobody could make sense of all this. How the fuck was any of this possible? Why did people never come back? Where did all these people go? What happened here?
