"I should have guessed" Richa said as she admired the beautiful ruby ring on Gauri's finger
"Guessed what??" Gauri asked
"That there is a reason why he didn't kick you out of the house when he realised the truth" Richa said winking
"Now I'm a star among my friends" Aditya said grinning as he plopped himself next to Gauri on the couch
"Star?? And you?? What could you have possibly done to become a star??" Gauri asked
"Nothing much. I just posted a photo of you and me as my whatsapp status" Aditya said and Gauri frowned
"What is so special in that?? I'm no celebrity" Gauri said
"That's right. You are not. I posted the photo with a caption meri pyaari behana" he said still grinning
Gauri narrowed her eyes
"Why do I feel like you did something mischevious??" Gauri asked
"After an hour of posting that photo, I posted the photo of the great Omkara Singh Oberoi on his knees in front of you" he said smugly
"What did you do??? Are you mad?? Why would you do something like that?? " Gauri asked beating him with the couch pillow
"Stop it na di. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to show off. Why would I not use it??" He asked dodging the pillow
"Don't tell me you told them you got an internship there too" Gauri warned him through narrowed eyes
"Okay. I won't tell you if you don't want to hear" Aditya said and started running around the living room and Gauri chased him
"Aadi ki bachchi... You are dead today"
They came running out to the backyard where Omkara was on a phone call
They both stopped dead on tracks when they heard the booming voice of Omkara Singh Oberoi
"I'm not paying you so that you would call me for every single mishap happening in the company. I have hired an efficient team so that they could take care of these silly mistakes on their own." There was a pause as he listened to what the person on other side was telling him
"What the!! Don't give me silly excuses Roy. I need a report immediately. And who the hell gave the new intern access to the project details. On what basis did you even hire him?? " A pause followed
"I will be back tomorrow and I will personally meet the boy. And warn him that I'm not at all in a good mood." Omkara hung up cursing his employees for ruining his mood
He was having a very good time here in Gauri's hometown. He had been introduced to Dhawan family next door and Gupta family who lives nearby
And it was so very different from the people in his social circle where everything is a facade. Where money talks more that character.
And here people are genuine. Their smiles are warm and genuine unlike the fake smiles he had got used to in the city
He turned around to see Gauri and Aditya looking at him
Gauri had a mischevious smile on her face and Aditya was looking at him in horror
He saw the boy whispering something to Gauri and she simply raised an eyebrow in amusement
"So the ruthless Oberoi really does exist huh?? After meeting him yesterday I thought the media was simply exaggerating" Aditya whispered to Gauri not taking his horrified gaze from Omkara's face
