tonight had been a very stressful night for the five foot nothing girl who was currently trying to get a plate off of one of the shelves in her kitchen. she had four assignments due my midnight, and only two of them were even started, it was nine pm. so she decided to make some dinner, then rush through her work. maybe call george while she was at it. but who knows.
while she had successfully grabbed the plate, it slipped from her fingers, and fell to the floor, shattering into dozens of pieces.
she sighs before going to clean up the shards that were all throughout her kitchen. in the midst of this endeavor, her phone began ringing. she let it ring all the way through. when the ringing began again, and ava sighed in annoyance.
sapnap on discord.
"hey, sapnap. what's up?" she mumbles. "oh, am i bothering you?" the texan boy asks, really hoping she was not busy. "no, not at all. i just broke something and was trying to clean it up."
"huh, you don't seem like a clumsy person." he muses, "oh i am." she mutters, throwing the remaining shards into the garbage bin.
"you're on your phone then, yeah?" when he receives a hum of confirmation he nods, though she can't see him. "am i meant to be on my computer?"
"you have school work, don't you."
"yeah.."
"cool, so do i. call me when you're at your computer." with that he hangs up, leaving the girl slightly confused

ava and sapnap were sat in a call, and sapnap was there for moral support as she finished her assignments, and he finished some of his. they would help each other, despite studying two vastly different things.
"sapnap, should i color and shade it, or should i just leave the line art." ava had finished her assignments, unbeknownst to sapnap, and was drawing a picture of him and george. now, she didn't want to leave dream out, so she'd draw him too. only as his little blob logo thing.
"i think colors, you like colors, don't you?" he sounds focused. she hums in agreement, looking for the perfect shade of orange to use for his portion of the drawing.
she was in the midst of polishing off the rings, that adorned sapnap's hands, when a new voice entered their call. "sapnap! oh my god, i just found something crazy out." it was dream. ava's breath hitched.
"i'm literally in the same house as you. you could have come into my room." sapnap sighs, "ava, i'll be right back. i'm gonna go down and see what he wants."
ava was indifferent, she let out a small 'okay' before going back to her drawing. dream didn't like her for whatever reason, so she'd feel the same about him.
it had been five minutes, and ava was looking at reference photos for the rest of sapnaps design. he unmuted his mic with a sigh "ava, he's so so so stupid." to which ava giggled. "i would assume so." she laughed, "what happened, what did he find out?" she didn't really want to know, but at the same time, she did.
"something with the shower. like we've been living here for a while. i found that out the first time i showered here" he says, going back to his essay he had due tomorrow.
"you shower?"
"what the hell? i hate you so much"
"you don't really"
"do you want me to?"
ava stays silent, trying to hold back a laugh, and failing. this causes sapnap to laugh as well, and soon they are both collapsing into fits of laughter.
the call lapses into a comfortable silence as they work. asking small questions here and there.

"you don't like dream do you?" this question startles her, and she freezes. "i guess i'm pretty indifferent, he doesn't like me for whatever reason, so i figured i'll just ignore him, maybe make a jab here and there. nothing serious" ava replies softly, finally putting the finishing touches on his design. now she starts to work on george, which will take another two and a half hours.
sapnap had finished all his work, and was just enjoying her company. the two had grown close in the few weeks they had known each other.
she seem relatively focused, he wondered if she was still working. it was late for him, so he assumed it was for her.
"where do you live?" he blurted, after a moment. "you won't come and kill me will you?" she asks sarcastically, finally looking up from her drawing. "of course not, what do you take me for?" he playfully scoffs, acting offended.
"what the fuck. i take you for a minecraft youtuber and an idiot and nothing else. also i live in tampa bay."
sapnap's eyes go wide. "cool, i'm in florida too." he says nonchalantly, though he was in shock. "ooh, fun we should hang out sometime." ava says casually. "we met three weeks ago? and you just called me an idiot?"
"are you insinuating that you're a psycho and might kidnap me?"
"ava, what the fuck"
she laughs, "sapnap i trust you, but i understand. how about once we get to know each other more?"
he smiles, "of course."
