jinyoung smiled, looking at the photo he's just taken. the sight of his best friends having fun brought a warm feeling to his chest. he loved picnics. he loved capturing memories. but nothing could ever compare to the love he felt for his friends.
"youngjae, you snake! you ate my cookie!"
everything about the photo he took was perfect. jackson's face showed pure terror as his drink hung in mid-air, threating to spill all over his clothes. youngjae and jaebeom, who were sitting across from jackson, looked like they were about to burst from all the laughing. mark was peacefully blowing bubbles, not phased by the chaos surrounding him, and bambam was visibly confused. and finally, yugyeom, cuddled to bambam's side, was trying to hide his giggles with his hands.
"jinyoung, stop staring at the damn photo and help us hide jaebeom's shoes!"
"hey! give that back, you little shit!"
jinyoung couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of jaebeom scurrying barefoot on the grass. youngjae and jackson have teamed up against him, each of them tightly holding one shoe and running for their lives. soon enough bambam and mark joined the fun, tossing jaebeom's shoes to each other while the poor boy desperately tried to catch them.
jinyoung greatly enjoyed days like these, when he could just sit back and relax in the company of the best people he's ever met. he especially liked when he was left alone with one specific person – the boy that was now sitting next to him.
yugyeom was a real life angel. since the day the two met, jinyoung had always wondered how someone could be so perfect – so selfless, caring and kind. and on top of that, the boy was so stunning that you couldn't help but fall in love with him more and more every second. well, at least that was the case for jinyoung. bambam sure was lucky...
"why are you staring at me like that? do i have something on my face?" the angelic boy asked with a smile.
"oh, it's nothing," jinyoung mumbled, quickly averting his gaze elsewhere. "so... how do you feel now that you've moved in with bambam?"
the younger sighed dreamily, "it couldn't have been better. he's the sweetest! and i finally have someone to cuddle at night."
"that's great. i'm glad that you're both happy," jinyoung responded, ignoring the slight pang in his heart.
yugyeom leaned his head on jinyoung's shoulder and closed his eyes.
"you know, it's gonna be pretty lonely at school without you and the others," he said.
"i know. i'm gonna miss our thursday meetups."
and then they sat in silence, just cherishing each other's presence and the warm sunlight shining down on them. the laughs of their friends in the background, the birds chirping, and the faint smell of fresh air. this felt like home.
"if i had one wish, it would be for this to never change. for us to stay together until the end."
"yeah. that's a nice thought."
