One in the same (Shinsou x Depressed Reader)

~You've Got To Be Kidding Me~

~(Y/N) P.O.V.~

Midnight explained the rules of the race. We were allowed to use our quirks at any means. Yet we had to stay in the course. You glanced back at the rest of the students and saw Shinsou. You gave him a small smile. This should be easy enough?

You started in a tunnel bunched in with others. As the sound went off to go you were all stuck in the corridor jammed in between people. You saw people with amazing quirks going first using it to their advantage to get out of the crowd. You growled starting to get frustrated with being pushed around. Then you yelled using your quirk "GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" People dropped to the ground holding their ears. You took the chance to run forward out of the crowd.

When you came out the tunnel you saw your classmates fighting robots. You turned your head to see a very large one from the entrance exam coming to you. You yelled at a high frequency causing it to jam and spazz before it fell to the ground. It twitched a few times with sparks coming out of it. You were pretty proud of yourself. You smiled as you started running with Uraraka beside you. 

You get to the level. You saw pillars from the ground connected by small strings. "Well shit" you mumbled. You saw as everyone was using their quirks to get across. You didn't have a quirk like that. Till you saw little Midoriya crawling. You would have to do the same. You weren't going to try to walk on it because you could barely walk on two feet. 

You started going across on the rope. Then you looked down. It was so far down. You felt your hands getting sweaty and slipping. You hyperventilated and started moving faster. You moved so quickly you hardly noticed you were coming up to the end. You got up and took a few deep breaths starting to calm down. 

You ran to the final obstacle just as Midoriya flew to the first place spot. Now you were glad you trained your body to be quick and agile. You started walking through doing a light hop. Your body moved smoothly and quickly across the minefield till you were at the end. Then you ran up and crossed the finish line.

You looked at the screen...20th place. What the actual hell. Did you work so hard all this damn time to get 20th place in the first freaking thing. You growled and walked off. You found a bench and put your head in your hands. 

You started crying softly. Why am I crying. Im so fucking pathetic. You then felt a soft hand on your shoulder. You looked up to see Shinsou. "Hey (Y/N) you alright?" You sniffled and just stared at him blankly. He sat beside you. "I understand if you don't want to talk but I want to help…"

~Shinsou P.O.V~

I looked at them . I just wanted to help them. They looked so upset. I never want them to be where I have been. They have been to that dark place before and doesn't need to go again. 

I sat down and brought my hand on their cheek and wiped her tears away. "You did an amazing top 20." They shook her head, her voice breaking.

"All my classmates did so much better. I worked so hard yet I still can't catch up." I smiled and hugged them close.

"You did Your best that's what matters"

"You sound like my dad" they said and you both laughed. He looked into their eyes. They were so beautiful.

~(Y/N) P.O.V.~

You looked into his eyes. Your heart was pounding. You felt a lump in your throat like you couldn't talk. Your friends had described this before. This is what having a crush felt like. 

You smiled a small bit and he smiled back. "We should get going. The next task starts soon"
