So the Gydeon Game series is more like an Adventure SIM. It's inspired by Fable III, Dragon Age, and Stardew valley, if not a bit of Kingdom Come Deliverance as well. Here we will be talking about Home ownership, Which the player can dabble into as a way to gather income and either negative or positive reputation. Or you can choose to Rent a Home.

First to be granted a home, you must find a Vacant home for sale. It will start a quest, for you to locate the owner and purchase it from them

Some owners my not be willing to sell to you for various reasons, but there are plenty of ways around that. Likewise, some owners might give you discounts for various reasons.

The Second Method of buying a home is finding a Realtor, they will give you a list of homes not for sale by owner that you can choose from in the city you are in. These homes are often overpriced, but you can use Charisma, Bard Perks, Swindler perks, or Intelligence perks to talk them down to a lower price.

Providing you've done enough Quests to make a name for yourself, or you have a right about of Money in the Bank, you can become a landlord. Being landlord can give you constant revenu as you play. Because of this - it's not easy to maintain. There is a max amount of what you can charge for rent, depending on the style of home, home location, and it's furnishings.

Renters will give you positive or negative reputation based on rent price, how nice the home is, and the Renter NPC's personal preference/personality.

Meaning, If you swindle a Noble into renting out a dump that looks nice on the outside and has torn up furniture and webs on the inside, said Noble will be unhappy, giving you negative Rep. If you are getting Neg-Rep from a tenant, it will show as  an icon when you look on your map. Same thing will happen for pos-Rep.

A tenant will leave if they are unhappy with their home for over a month of in game days.

If you wish to sell a house, it is easy, just go to a realtor location and sell it, no hassle and quick cash.

Below I will list a few interesting Details on what you can do with homes, and what to expect as a homeowner or landlord in the world of Gydeon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FULLY CUSTOM HOMES:

The Home ownership process does offer a few ground up house builds, the "Build your own home" kind of thing. But they aren't many. We've currently planned 4 ground up home locations.

On the brightside, There are 3 house exterior types to chose from and each one as 4 different exterior house models. It's a modular build, something that will remind you of Skyrim. First you build the base home, and then you pick out how many rooms you want and what type of rooms you want.

The player can choose which materials they build their homes out of, Wood, Logs, Brick, and Stone are some options. You can also choose roof style, windows, doors, and much more depending on the location of the home.

The Player can choose what features to have on their property, tailor it to be a standard residential home, a farm, or many other things. The Player will have lots of options for exterior and interior customization, including ones that are, Class,  perk, reputation, level, quest and achievement exclusive.  This will mean (almost) every playthough will offer a new experience from these homes.

INTERIOR CUSTOMIZATION - PREBULT HOMES:

Not big on building a home from the ground up? Or maybe it's too expensive for your characters blood? Purchase an existing home, and tailor it to your liking with the furnishings you unlock as you play. The items you can change vary depending on the house you've purchased and just like the Fully Custom homes some features are Class, Perk, reputation, level, quest and achievement exclusive.

Choose to make your pad as luxurious, shabby, rustic, scary, filthy or quirky as you like on the inside. With hundreds of options, you can go into great detail or only twiddle with a few features, or find a designer and leave the work up to them...this is the equivalent to a "Randomize button" that will be tailored to how much you wish to spend on furnishings.

Some homes will have wallpaper options while others won't, it all depends on the type of home you've bought and where you've purchased it. For instance, A log cabin bought in Frostmire will not have wallpaper, but will offer you lots of options to customize with cozy rugs, hides and more.

BECOME A RENTER!

Not fussed with being able to decorate? Need a cheeper option until you can afford to buy a place? Or do you just want to avoid noisy Inns? Well give Renting a Try! You can rent several homes across Gydeon, you pay the landlord by the in game month, week, or year, and when that time is up they will ask you for another payment, or you can opt out...or they can kick you out, and you'll find all your loot outside.

The renting option allows you to display trophies, weapons, armor, treasure or whatever else you found interesting. But you cannot customize the house itself. All rentals come pre-furnished for the player. The Player can request rental furnishings to be updated by going to the landlord.

ROOMMATES:

Is a home too expensive? There are a few of your Travel companions who you can talk into co-ownership! This goes for renting and homeownership. If renting, your companion/follower will help you pay a portion of the rent, the amount they pay will vary depending on their personality and status. It works the same for Homeownership, if you need help with the price, they can offer a portion of the house cost.

Spouses can help pay towards houses and rent too, the amount varies on Personality, status and occupation if they work.

Please note, that some companions and spouses will be too cheap to help you out and should you divorce a spouse (only possible with Non-party member NPCs) they will sometimes keep the house if its before you cause bodily harm to them.

LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION:

Where your home is located affects many things within the game. Homes in high-end areas without proper security might get robbed, homes outside of cities run the risks of abduction of your family member, and you will need to save them.

There are small chances that even with stewards and guards that someone may rob you or kidnap your loved one. However, it is somewhere around a 5% chance rather than the 10% Chance of RNG without any home protection.

Filling a shabby home with high-end furnishings will sometimes thwart would be robbers and other times it can encourage them.

If you purchase house in the fancy part of town and fill them with lower-end furnishings, and have a dinner party, your neighbors will talk.

In short, where you live, how you live and who you are will all affect the world chatter around you as well as some interactions.

For instance, should the Shop keep in Stonegarde's  Shopping district find out you've made one of the more expensive homes in Stonegarde's Garden district your family/main home, He might welcome you with great enthusiasm to come by and look at his wares, and grumble begrudgingly if you don't buy anything.

Likewise, if you've made a modest home your main house, some characters will comment about it too you with appreciation for the humble life.
