Welcome to a glimpse of the world of Gydeon, look down into the rolling hills of the Lorland Highfields. Here the climate is cool, the air is soft and sweet with the morning dews of the foliage and the waters are pure enough to drink from even the stillest stream. Its known for sunny skies even as it rains. The people will welcome you into their Inns, with the first drink on the house and most folk beckon you to take a sample from their gardens and vineyards.
Lorlans (as the people call themselves) are laid bad folks typically and believe in treating visitors well as they are proud of their kingdom.
If the Inn is full you might find a few home owners renting out rooms, pass by a person sitting on their porch with a glass of lemonsweet (lemonade) and they might just invite you to join them.
Lorland, is a sleepy Kingdom who's beautiful land is fertilized in blood, as it has been desired my many other kingdoms in the past, and has been conquered twice in it's history. Even though battle hardened the land will welcome you will cool, crystal blue rivers and streams, Lush with fresh water Pinkfins (Salmon), Yellow Wings and Bluepinch (blue crabs). Its got great game as well Springdae are often seen wandering in small herds should you wander away from the sheep and cottonram grazing grounds. You can also find greater bison, Buglehorns (a type of moose). It's dangers include Bears, Hillcats (Siamese colored mountain lions), Stiltfox (fox colored maned wolves) and the Thyverines (the look like Thylacines and Wolverines but bigger). While the majority of Lorland is wilderness and farmsteads. There is the capital of Stagwall and a new small towns to visit, below is a list of a few notable places. Keep an eye out as I will be releasing more information on Lorland over time.Slywallow Swine Farm:
A pig farm owned by an cantankerous old man, by the name of Borric [Boar-Rich] Sylwallow, and his wife Marriet. They've lived on their land all their life and their family has owned the land since Lorland's founding. Its a place briefly featured in the book, and will be a quest giving location as well as job location in game. Old Man Borric is a fairly significant character in the book, we have not decided on is this will carry out in game. (but everyone likes the grumpy old grandpa character right)
Madwic:
A small village founded by a candle maker, it is known as town full of looneys. But that's hardly the truth, if anything it's a town of healers and craft users skilled in Life and Organic magic. You will find Apothecary shops, Tome shops, and the market sells magic imbued fruits and vegetables. And...just incase you are wondering, Yes there is a candle shop ~ also sells incense for your Seer needs.
Stagwall:
Lorland's Capital and largest city, it's flag is of a leaping white Springdea Stag (they have two sets of antlers) on a deep green and silver triangular shield. Stagwall's city slogan is "Character above riches, kingdom before king."
It has one of the only two Attenuaries ( Attenuary = something like a hospital) in Lorland. While Stagwall is a very welcoming city it can be a bit opposing with it's fortress like nature, the city is surrounded by a towering log wall, built atop a stone wall and surrounded in battlements pour towers (tar is poured from large cast iron cauldrons onto invading armies). It has two Inns, three taverns, a Kirk (church) and abbey, two Black smiths, The Royal forge, Stagwall Castle, Stagwall Athenaeum (Library) and a stable to name a new places to visit.A large portion of the castle is open to visitors and there are front stall waiting in the great hall to welcome you and help you with any business one needs to attend. The Castle Keep is off limits to the public however and that is where the Royal family resides. Or in the game, single player, depending on your choices, it could be were you reside.
Green Gulp Lake:
A large lake where fishermen tend to live, the lake is fed by an underground river system and a number of water animals are found here. Snapping turtles, bluefin turtles, Moss shrimp, Emereal oysters, river snakes, and Silvergills (they look like fish). Water lilies, Lilly Leaf, and Water Kell (based off of aquatic plant) are harvested here among other things. In the summer, when the emerald oysters produce green gem like pearls, an contest is held wear teams of two dive down to try and collect the largest Emereal, they win a large sum of money, and had their Emereal placed in the Royal gallery (a trophy room open to the public) on a pedestal next to a painting of their likeness and thier name on a plague - forever remembered in the Kingdom's history. Emereals hold a historical significance for Lorlans.Run-Tum-Timmy's River:
A river that turns into deadly rapids in the winter, rather than freezing over. It comes with a odd be it sad legend of a boy named Timmy. Home to Pinkfins in the spring as here is where they lay their eggs, Yellow Flyers are caught year around in it's waters, vibrant fish with wing like fins that can dive in and out of the water (like fly fish or dolphins).
