'Akine Akiyama'

Bakugou couldn't breath. He let go of the bloodied backpack like it burned his hand. He grasped his hair at the roots, pulling on it a little too hard. He crawled back until his back hit the door, he wanted out of the room. But at the same time, he wanted to stay.

He just found one of the closest belongings to Akine, in a abandoned building. He felt like he needed to vomit, he put the pieces together in his head. Akine's backpack, blood on mattress, ropes there to tie someone down. He didn't even realize he was hyperventilating and tears were running down his face. He didn't make a noise as he wept.

He was sure he was going to pass out, but he felt a comforting presence wash over him. Like someone was placing their hand on his shoulder in reassurance, but no one was there. He didn't even realize his breathing calmed down.

He looked up, spotting a locked closet across from the mattress. He didn't dare open it, he didn't want to know what was in there. He got up, staggering a little.

Bakugou always thought the supernatural was a huge lie, he never had an experience with it, so he chose not to believe it. But now it's happening right in front of him, in a place Akine once was. It could've been just a childish dream, but he wanted Akine to be the rumored ghost who haunts the building. He's never wanted something so desperately before, not even to become number one.

"...Akine?" Bakugou said, more as a question. He spoke the name he's only said in his head since 3rd grade. It was too painful to say his name outloud, it brought back memories. But those memories he ironically clung to with a firm grip. He refused to let them go, because he yearned to see the smile of Akine. If this was his chance to finally do so, no way was he letting it slip by.

There was that comforting presence now on his back. It felt like a little kid jumping on his back and clung to it. Bakugou's hand went to cover his mouth, because Akine used to always jump on his back when they were kids. And this felt too similar.

"..Akine" his voice wavered brokenly, now said a statement rather than a question.

The lock that kept the tiny closet door shut, rocked back and forth. Bakugou didn't want to open it, but it called for him. If Akine wanted him to open it, he was going to do it. He'd do anything at this point.

He went to the locked door but it was rusted shut, same with the lock. His hands sparked, he had to be careful so he wouldn't destroy whatever was inside. He grabbed the lock so his whole hand covered it. He sent a small explosion in his palm which caused the lock to fall to the floor. He took a deep breath and pried the door open.

There hung pictures of Akine, but they were all taken at weird angles. The photographer was crouched behind bushes, trees, blending in with the crowd. Akine wasn't looking at the photographer in any of the pictures, so most likely wasn't aware they were being taken.

There was even pictures of Akine in his house that were taken from outside his window. The most unsettling one was a picture of Akine sleeping in his bed. His kidnappers were watching him for so long, and no one noticed a damn thing.

A small necklace was hung on one of the nails that were hammered into the wood.

The thin silver chain held a small moon charm on it. His parents had given it to him a long time ago, disappearing along with him.

The necklace rocked back and forth slowly and Bakugou had the sudden urge to grab it. When he reached for it, the gentle rocking stopped completely. He felt something touch his hand, urging him towards it.

He gently unhooked the necklace and stepped back from the closet. The room got colder, but more comforting at the same time.

"Kacchan?"

That voice, the same one Bakugou wanted to hear for so long. The closest he ever got were old recordings from his childhood, it was never enough though. Nothing cold beat the real thing, so he accepted his fantasy would never some true. But now the voice was here, and it was coming from the mattress behind him.

He turned around, his crimson orbs locking with soft grey ones. Akine stood right next to the bed, he hadn't changed a bit. Still had his 3rd grade appearance like he never left. His dark brown hair, still as messy as it always was. There were small ropes tied on both his wrists like they were cut off from the poles.

"Akine" Bakugou couldn't say anything else. He's dreamt of this, the day he would be reunited with Akine when he was little. He always had that part of him that denied the thought of Akine being actually dead.

Akine smiled at him, but it was a sad one. There were even tears peaking at the corners of his eyes.

"D-Did it hurt? Did you suffer?" Bakugou asked in a soft voice. He always feared Akine's death was painful, his kind soul didn't deserve it. He didn't deserve any of this.

"I'm not sure, I don't remember. I guess that's the pro of death, you forget all the painful memories" Akine answered in a equally soft voice.

Katsuki's shoulders shook from the guilt he felt. "I'm so sorry, we couldn't find you. We were just two dumb kids, thinking we could find you"

"It wasn't your fault" Akine replied brokenly.

Katsuki didn't look at him, he kept his gaze on the floor. He felt like he didn't deserve to look at Akine, he felt like a failure.

"Would you look at me? Please?" Akine's voice whispered.

Katsuki flinched from how broken the voice sounded, so he lifted his head to meet Akine's gaze.

"I'm sorry" katsuki cried. Akine's eyes widened at his old friends crying face.

"That was not on you, you're one of the good things in this world. I've always seen it, you were always the one to save me in the end"

Akine wrapped his arms around Katsuki and whispered a small, "thank you"

Bakugou's soft cries were the only thing heard in the room, his friends yells were silenced to the two childhood friends.

Katsuki let out all the sorrow he held over the years, and Akine was always there to comfort him. Even after death, he was there.

The two stayed in a embrace, drowning in silent cries.

AN: poor little Akine died and was trapped in the building all alone :'(
Sorry if the reunion sucked, I didn't know how I wanted to write it xd
