👀The Deal👀

Dakota's POV

"Kayden what are you doing here!" I said as I got up from Kaspian's lap and walked over to my brother.

"What! I just came in here to tell you that mom and dad are ready to meet with you guys. They just finished their meeting so they're waiting on you." He said as he leaned on the bookcase that was on the side of him.

"Oh.. okay then. Let's go." I said as I grabbed Kaspian's arm and quickly dragged him out of the library.

"Hey wait what's the rush? We still need to talk some things over before we face your parents." Kaspian said as we were now power walking through the halls to get to the dinning hall in time.

"We don't have anymore time Kaspian! And secondly, the faster we get there, the faster we can get this over with. I don't want to keep my parents waiting. ESPECIALLY my mother, you already know how she is." I said while rolling my eyes.

"Well could we just-" Kaspian was cut off from his sentence as the push the doors open to the dinning hall.

"We're here!" I said as we both enter the dinning hall and took our seats right next to my parents.

They sat on one side of the table, and we sat parallel to them. By the time we got there all of the food was already on display, as well as our wine, and utensils.

"Perfect! Now what did you want to talk about honey?" My dad said as he sipped some of his wine.

I took a deep breath first. "Well Kaspian and I want to get married." I said cautiously as Kaspian took my hand and held it under the table.

"WHAT!" My mother shouted.

"Isn't it enough that we already allow you to date each other. Especially due to current circumstances." She continued angrily.

"Yes! And we understand that your Majesty, but we aren't trying to get married right now. Just later on in the future." Kaspian implied.

"We don't give you any trouble. So I don't really see what the problem is, sooo." I said already irritated rolling my eyes.

"YOU already know why we can't accept this! Their are rules, let alone laws that say otherwise. So why do you keep bombarding us with this child like dream of being married to each other!" My mother said raising her voice.

"Now honey, just calm down. Maybe we can come up with some sort if loop whole or something. The kids really love each other, and Kaspian is a very well mannered Prince." My father said as he tried to simmer down the situation.

"Well that brings us to my next point. I was gonna propose that we can somehow work to show guys that if/when we get married that we can handle both kingdoms. Or at least later down the line combine the two!" Kaspian said.

"Well I don't know about combining kingdoms and all. Now that is a while other situation. Yet, I do like the idea of trying to prove yourselves. Maybe we can come of with some sort of deal." My father spoke intently.

"WHAT! NO! You're not actually considering this are you Karter!" My mother was now pissed off, as she almost choked on her wine.

"Sure why not! If the kids are willing to put in the work, I don't see anything wrong with it." My father said as he had now began to cut into his steak and eat a piece.

"Thanks dad, I really appreciate it!" I said with excitement.

"Now don't get too happy, I haven't even told you my deal yet." He said while looking up from his plate at me.

"Okay then, what do you propose we do." I said cautiously.

"If you can manage the actual duties of being King & Queen of both kingdoms for a month. Then I'll set up a meeting to talk to the council about your possible marriage." He said while looking at the both of us now.

"What! A month that's not enough time!" I shouted.

"Your right sweet heart that isn't enough time. Let's make it two months then. One month for training and the other month to actually carry out your duties." He said with the biggest grin on his face.

"Come on dad! Really? How the hell is that even possible! We don't-" I said then cut off by Kaspian.

"We'll take it! Deal!" Kaspian said as he and my father shook hands.

"What!" I said now looking at the both of them.

"Take it or leave it Dakota. That's how the real royal world works. You can't just get everything that you want without a price. Speaking of price, you'll learn more about that in training when you go over trading with other kingdoms and countries." My father smirked as he continue to eat the rest if his food.

"Fine." I said as I then got up from the table and started to head for the exit so I can go back to my room.

"Hold up! Wait for me! Oh and thank you for the dinner your Majesty." Kaspian said as he quickly got up to follow right behind me.

This was going to be another headache that I damn sure didn't need right now 😤. Even though I'm a Princess, I hate my life.
