huffing, puffing and whining into her pillow, kailani rolled over to quiet her iphone alarm, half asleep. except, what she hit wasn't actually her phone. she wasn't even on the side of her bedside table, she had rolled over to the side closest to her door. and it was her little brother cobi and his head she had accidentally grabbed and aggressively smacked - not her iphone on the bedside table. 

immediately, kailani woke up and she grabbed ahold of her baby brother's head and pulled him closer to her chest hugging him tightly, "...oh, cobi, baby i am so sorry! i didn't mean to hit you, i thought i had rolled over towards my bedside table not realising i had been on that side already!" she whispered apologetically, kissing her little brother's head as cobi didn't even really cry, he just snuggled closer to his sister 

"it's ok, lani, you didn't hurt me! i was just coming in here to wake you up because i know you've been struggling to wake up on time lately," cobi spoke up, his voice slightly muffled since he was snuggled up close to kailani still as her heart almost burst 

"aw, cobi, you're a sweet boy aren't you? well, thank you cobi cub and you succeeded because i'm now definitely fully awake!" kailani giggled at the end as she pulled herself and cobi up, resting the both of them against her bed head as she finally reached over to turn off her iphone alarm that had been beeping like crazy 

"yay! oh, also, daddy was wondering if you wanted to come for a surf with him, koko and zekey..." cobi trailed off as kailani smiled, knowing the reason why their dad had invited her, so a photo of her could be taken and she could post it because of the pinky promise she had made last night during her dad's birthday 

"...that sounds perfect cobi cub but, what about you and mumma? you two not coming?" kailani asked as she placed cobi back on her bed as she stood up to put on her baggy westlife hoodie over her satin pyjama shorts 

"nah, mumma's taking me out on a date just the two of us whilst daddy takes out you, koko and zekey so, it's okay. we can all go surfing together another time!" cobi shrugs as he snuggles backwards into his sister's blanket and sheets as kailani giggles

"alrighty then, that sounds brilliant, we'll for sure do that then! make sure mumma takes some good photos, alright little man? i'll be wanting to see them!" kailani smiles as she moves back over to her bed 

picking up cobi, she hauls the both of them out of her bedroom, "come on cobi, our family's waiting for us! we can't leave them hanging, especially if we've all got places to be!" kailani's voice went up an octave, making cobi giggle as they rush out of the hallway and into the family kitchen

the kitchen was where dad kian, koa, zekey and mum jodi were all waiting for the oldest and youngest of their wild and wacky family. kian and jodi were drinking their protein smoothies together in the corner whilst koa and zekey were sitting together eating their cereal. kian then looking up and smiling over at two of his kids. 

"and there they are! well done cobi, you woke up kailani! so, lani, you up for a surf day today with koko, zeke and me or would you rather go out with mum and cobi?" kian asked as kailani's eyes lit up even more, smiling down at her brother that rested on her hip

"i get a choice? this little man only said i could go surfing with the big boys," kailani teased, tickling little cobi who giggles, which makes the rest of the family giggle as kian spoke up again

"of course you get a choice lani! but, we did plan for the surfing trip to be you, me, koa and zekey but, unless you do want to go with mum and cobi, by all means you can choose," kian smiled, placing his smoothie on the counter as jodi nodded her head, agreeing with her husband
