Sasuke woke up with a start for the umpteenth time during that single night. Every time, his wife woke up with him to comfort him back to sleep.
Why was he so mentally weak? He cursed himself again and again. One of the strongest shinobis becomes a PTSD patient or some shit after encountering people from his past for barely two minutes? Haha. His mentality was a big joke.
With these thoughts racing in his mind along side the episodes of his past, Uchiha Sasuke's night was spent in great discomfort. The only little sanity he had left right now was probably because of his wife's comforting embrace.

Hinata woke up to her alarm, indicating that it was already morning. She quickly turned it off so that her husband wouldn't wake up from the noise since he'd already had a very rough night. She wanted to sleep too but she had work to do.
She carefully unwrapped herself from Sasuke's arms and got up to take a quick hot shower to help her relax her body. She was in the middle of it when she heard the doors outside opening and closing.
He woke up again. She thought sadly. Last night had been a very tough one for him. He woke up every once in a while through a bad dream. She was desperate to help him but didn't know how.
She got out of shower and quickly dressed up, dried her hair until it was damp and went to the children's room where she was sure she would find her husband too.
When she entered the said room, she noticed that he had taken the quilt from their room and was now lying beside Takama in his medium sized bed. His soft breaths indicated that he was asleep. Her heart wrenched for him.
She then looked inside the crib to inspect the twins who were sleeping peacefully. She adjusted their blanket again and sighed as she slightly moved her fingers over Kazuma's swollen eye. He whined a little and Hinata quickly retrieved her hand as to not wake him up. She tiptoed out of the room and made her way towards the kitchen.
Hinata loved cooking, maybe it was because she held dear memories of her mother and herself in the kitchen. Her mother was an excellent cook.
She was almost done preparing the breakfast when Sasuke walked in with the twins who were whining because they were very hungry. Hinata noticed their clean clothes and knew Sasuke had already had them changed.
"You should've called me." She told him in a soft voice.
Sasuke just shrugged and handed one baby over to Hinata.
After Hinata was done feeding them both, they burped the babies and then put them in the play pen in TV longue. Hinata arranged the dinner table with the few dishes she had prepared for the breakfast. They had breakfast in peace.
Sasuke helped clean the table and then went to the TV longue to check up on the twins. What he saw broke his heart. It was all his fault.
While Sakuma was busy playing with his toys, Kazuma sat still, scratching his his still swollen eyes from last night. As soon as Sasuke came into his view he whined and raised his arms to his father as if asking him to stop whatever was bothering him so much.
Sasuke checked Sakuma's eyes which seemed okay. He then picked up the whiny baby and went to find Hinata. Sakuma spared them a glance before turning back to his picture book and continuing his intrigued 'research'.
He found Hinata in their bedroom. She was tying her hair into an updo so that it would not be in her way for the rest of the day. Upon his entry, she turned around.
"Everything alright Sasuke-kun?" She asked with a frown. Simultaneously she put a pin in her hair to put her bangs aside.
"His eyes." Sasuke replied regretfully.
