After the whole breakdown Elizabeth had in the bathroom with Diane, the bell had rung, signalling for all the students to go to class. Unfortunately for Elizabeth, she has the one class she doesn't have with anybody but Meliodas.
It was history class, and it's not like she payed any attention anyway but she'll be more distracted now that Diane's told her she has a crush on her best friend's fucking brother.
It just had to be him, didn't it? Sometimes, she wishes she could slap him for making her feel this way. But why does she feel the need to then kiss him if she had slapped him? Oh God, what is wrong with her?!
"Alright class, I'm assigning a project for you to complete with a partner," the teacher says and Elizabeth's head shoots up. A project? "I will be assigning your partners, so don't get your hopes up." Groans are heard from all the students in the class.
"Hmm," the teacher hums, scanning the classroom. His eyes land on Elizabeth. "Alright, Elizabeth I'm pairing you with..." he trails off as his eyes find another student.
Don't be Meliodas. Don't be Meliodas. Don't be Meliodas.
"Meliodas will be your partner."
Damn it!
Elizabeth looks over to the blonde and he has a bright smile on his face. Her heart warms, like her cheeks, and her stomach is one again filled with butterflies. She mentally groans, knowing she won't even be able focus with his lopsided grin and those rich enchanting grassy green eyes looking at her from time to time.
He gets up and sits next to her while the teacher assigns everyone else a partner.
"Hey partner!" Meliodas says. Elizabeth doesn't respond, but smiles.
Once the teacher is done assigning everyone a partner, he continues. "Okay class, you'll be doing a project on our current government. If you feel like some things should be changed, like certain laws or rules, then explain why and what you would change it to. You may start planning."
And with that, Elizabeth begins to take out a notebook and a pencil. She watches as Meliodas does the same.
The entirety of the class, Elizabeth and Meliodas share their ideas for the project. Once the bell rings and Elizabeth has her stuff packed, Meliodas grabs her hand and drags her along with him.
"Are you that excited for lunch?" She giggles. He flashes her a lopsided grin when he turns to look at her.
"Of course, if it means I get to sit next to you and listen to your voice while you joke around with my brother and such," he says. Elizabeth blushes a deep shade of red at his words. How could he speak so freely about what's on his mind? And it certainly does not help in her case.
Elizabeth is sure her feelings for the blonde are unrequited.
Once they get to the cafeteria, they see their friends already sitting at a table. The first person Elizabeth lays eyes on is Zeldris, and she smiles brightly when he smiles at her.
They all chat about school work and such, but their conversation is cut short when a teacher speaks up and very loud.
"Attention, students!" The teacher says. "In about two to three weeks, we will be hosting a talent show! The amount of people allowed per group - should you do it with others - is two to five! Anything more than that and you will not be allowed to participate. The winners will be given a prize of five hundred dollars per contestant, so do your best!"
"Woah, a talent show?" Diane speaks up.
"Sounds lame," Zeldris comments. Elizabeth pouts and smacks her best friend on the arm.
"I wanna do it!" Elizabeth says.
"But Ellie," Zeldris says, his green eyes looking confusingly at Elizabeth. "You don't need the money. Why do you wanna do it?"
"Because Zel; it's fun! I wanna show people what I'm capable of doing. Is it so bad to want to show off my talents at a talent show?"
The dark haired teenager sighs. "I guess not. But what are you even gonna do?"
"Dance," Elizabeth smirks.
"By yourself?" Zeldris continues.
"Nope! I'm gonna do it with you."
Laughter is heard, and Elizabeth looks at her other friends. Ban, the one laughing the loudest and the hardest, begins banging his hand on the table.
"Zelly dances?! And with Princess?! That's fucking comedy gold!!"
Elizabeth watches as Diane punches him, and rather hard, on the shoulder. Ban hollers out in pain.
"Stop making fun of people, Ban! God!" Diane huffs as she crosses her shoulders.
The silverette rolls her eyes at Ban, and turns her head back to Zeldris.
"So? Will you do it with me? Pleasseeee?" She begs her best friend. He shakes his head no, and Elizabeth pouts. "Don't make me do it, Zel!"
"Please don't," Zeldris says. Elizabeth pouts even more and beings to plead with her blue eyes. There's no way he'll say no when Elizabeth does the infamous puppy dog eyes; he's always given in.
Zeldris groans as he stares into Elizabeth's eyes. "Okay! Okay, fine!"
Elizabeth smirks in victory. Oldest trick in the book and it never fails!
"Hm, now I know not to look at Elizabeth in the eyes if she wants something bad," Meliodas jokes. Elizabeth smiles as she turns to her best friend's brother. Then, she begins to pout once she's sure he's looking at her dead in the eyes.
"Oh no." He simply says. It's almost like he can't tear his gaze from her. "What do you want, Elizabeth?" He asks, a bit too sweetly. On the inside, she grins, her heart melting at his tone all the while, and she grabs his hands. He watches her closely. Elizabeth leans into Meliodas, her breath just barely hitting his cheek.
In the sweetest yet most menacing voice she can muster, she whispers, "I want you... to shut up," in his ear. She pulls back a bit and places a kiss to his cheek and the fully pulls away. Elizabeth looks at him for a moment and smiles when she realizes a faint blush rests on his cheeks.
"Aw! Cap'n's blushin'!" Ban exclaims. "What'd you do, Princess?"
"Nothing~!" Elizabeth says, turning back to Zeldris.
"Haha!"
Elizabeth smiles brightly and widely at Zeldris, and he sighs before rubbing his temples, but he can't hide the small grin on his lips.
