Chapter 3: Learn

After some small talk, Y/N, Senna, and Sepi were making their way to combat class.

"So, where's the fourth member?" Y/N asked Sepi.

"Oh, Skyler? She's training on her own right now. She went on a solo mission just a couple of days ago." Sepi explained.

"Solo, hm? Must mean she is pretty strong." Y/N said.

"Well, she is. But it's also just a simple G.E. mission, nothing too extravagant." Senna said. "Oh, G.E. means Grimm Extermination."

Y/N nodded, and he agreed. Simply going somewhere and killing some Lar'Ja Awu'Asa didn't sound all too difficult. They walked into the classroom together, where Sepi began joyfully pointing out some of the star teams of their academic year. Team STRQ, Team GRND, Team ALZE, Team HLVG, and Team DITZ. Y/N observed the team members and some indeed looked pretty strong for being in the first year. Y/N sat in his seat, next to where Skyler would normally sit.

"Good morning, class. I see there is a new student among you, Team SSS. What's your name?"

"Y/N," Y/N said.

"We call him Stalk though," Sepi said.

"Noted." The teacher said, adjusting his glasses. "Then, seeing as this is his first lesson, how about you hop into the ring for a spar?"

Y/N nodded eagerly. He walked into the arena and waited for his opponent. "Hm...Senna Soma."

Senna smirked and hopped from her seat straight into the ring. From her bag, she produced a belt-like device that she strapped around her waist. The belt had a hand-shaped scanner on it. She put her hand over the scanner, it scanned before making an announcement: "Senna Soma. Yes ma'am!"

"Interesting device," Y/N said, brandishing his bladed gauntlets.

"Thank you. Now, watch this!" She put her ring with fire dust on her left ring finger and inserted the ring into the belt, she winced in pain as from inside of the belt came needles which injected the dust straight into her bloodstream. Her hair turned from black to red and on fire, her eyes turned red as well. "Now then, it's showtime," Senna said, doing a pose along with that catchphrase.

Semblance Category - Elementmancy
Ability: This Semblance allows Senna to safely inject dust into her blood without physically harming herself, but too much dust can result in physical harm. When dust is injected, it allows her to incorporate the dust's element into her attacks, along with being able to cast runes that can use attacks relating to an element. This Semblance comes with the downside of needing a lot of fuel to keep going, so the user needs to eat a lot of food to compensate for the energy lost.

Y/N chuckled and then ran at Senna.

Y/N went for a slash with his gauntlet which Senna ducked under, Senna then did a flip into the air and did a stylish kick, her foot ignited in flames as it went towards Y/N. Y/N was struck and launched back. "That's one powerful kick," Y/N said. "Thank you," Senna said as three red runes appeared above her. She snapped her fingers and pointed at Y/N, the runes began shooting fireballs towards Y/N which Y/N had to avoid. Senna took him being distracted by the fireballs as an opportunity to leap forwards and do a downward axe kick, which made contact with Y/N's helmet, cracking it. Y/N fell to the ground as another red rune appeared under him. The rune shot out a jet of fire which launched Y/N upward.

"Now for the finisher!" Senna said.

"Finisher? Not a chance!" Y/N said, ditching the mask, revealing his human face for all to see, and he could swear he could hear a random girl or two swoon. "I'm just getting started!" He said as he began firing blasts from his plasmacaster at Senna. Senna did some stylish flips to avoid them, but she didn't notice Y/N shooting an explosive dart from a launcher in his gauntlet, the dart made impact which resulted in a big explosion that sent Senna rocketing backward.

"You. You're good." Senna said. She inserted the empty ring into her belt which absorbed the fire dust in her blood back into the ring, which also made her hair and eyes turn back to normal. She attached the ring back on the chain. "Then let's try this!" Senna said, grabbing a ring filled with wind dust. She inserted it into the belt as her blood once again became injected with dust. Her eyes and her hair turned green, and her hair now looked like it was permanently flapping in the wind. She ran to Y/N, now much faster than before. Y/N and Senna punched and kicked at each other, now locked into a hand to hand combat match, however, where Senna excelled in range and trickery, Y/N excelled in hand to hand combat so he was quickly overpowering Senna. Senna proceeded to then do a sparta kick, which kicked up a powerful gust of wind that launched her away from Y/N. She floated in the air, not flying but more suspending herself in the air.

Y/N aimed his plasmacaster at Senna and began firing, which Senna landed to dodge, but that left her open to a punch from Y/N straight to the jaw. Senna stumbled back and then smirked. She swiped her hands all around as the wind began hitting Y/N, getting stronger and stronger until he was pulled up from the ground and sent flying. "And here's the big one!" Senna said as she created a type of blade made out of her green wind energy which she sent towards Y/N, slashing him and sending him flying back into his seat.

"The winner by ring out, Senna Soma!" The teacher announced.

Y/N groaned and opened his Medicomp, the items inside he began using to tend to his wounds.

"Wait, don't you have Aura?" Sepi asked curiously.

"Hm? Oh, no. I never got my aura, not only did my tribe not have access to it, but they saw it as an unfair advantage anyway." Y/N said.

"That's...Kinda strange but pretty cool too!" Sepi smiled.

Y/N chuckled. "I guess so."

Senna then went back to her seat. "Good fight, Stalk." She said as she opened several boxes of donuts, handing one to Sepi and one to Y/N.

"Good fight." Y/N nodded.
