The first task

Omg I am honestly the worst. So sorry for the long wait! (Again). Thanks so much for all the reads, I honestly didn't think anyone would read this... Now I've committed I guess. I dunno what I'm doing. Is it bad? I'm not British or English or whatever but I'm trying to put in as much slang and stuff like that as I can. Make it ✨authentic✨. Anyway, enjoy!

"I can't wait for the first task! What do you think it's going to be?" Colin asked Ginny excitedly as they walked down the corridor towards transfiguration together. "I've got no clue." Ginny smiled. She in fact did know as Hagrid had let it slip that her brother Charlie was coming to help. After that there was no keeping it from her.

At the moment, Colin was one of the only people Ginny talked to. Ever since that article from Rita Skeeter came out in the Daily Prophet it was rare to find someone not sporting a "potter stinks" badge.

Ginny tried her best to stop people from wearing them or at least to keep them on the "support Cedric Diggory" side. Not that she likes Harry or anything, she's just trying to be a good friend.

"Did you finish the homework?" Colin asked as they pushed open the doors and went to find their seats. "Homework? What homework?" Ginny snapped her head towards him. How does this always happen? "You know the foot and a half parchment on-"

"The proper way to transfigure a teapot to a tortoise. I am looking forward to reading yours Miss Weasley." Professor McGonagoll walked through the door and up to her desk.

Ginny laughed nervously, "uh... about that..." "see me after class Miss Weasley." "Yes Professor."

She could hear several Hufflepuffs snickering as they took their writing up to the front. Most Hufflepuffs who had previously been kind and ,at the very least, tolerable for the Gryffindors had become cold and mean towards them ever since Harry Potter was announced as a Tri Wizard Champion.

Ginny sighed as she got a sympathetic look from Olive-Marie as she walked past, following her Hufflepuff friends.

Ginny filed down to the stands with everyone else. People were chanting in support for their favourite champions, waving flags, gossiping and cheering. Julia held Grace's hand "so she won't get lost in the crowd" but funnily enough Ginny doesn't believe her.

Hermione joined Ginny on the path and they fell into step together with Hermione grinning widely, all of her teeth on display. "What's up with you?" Ginny asked furrowing her eyebrows. "Haven't you noticed?" "Noticed what..." "my teeth!" Hermione grinned again.

"Oh... uh... are they.. smaller?" To be honest Ginny could barely see any difference but apparently this made the brunette very happy and she found herself smiling along.

They walked up to the stands and sat down Hermione disappearing shortly after to who knows where, she returned just before it was Cedric's turn looking slightly upset but Ginny decided not to question it.

The dragons were getting dangerously close to not only the champions but the students and teachers in the stands. Ginny loved the thrill of it all but she could tell that Hermione did not feel the same. When Ron moved to sit next to her however she saw the mood change and couldn't help but snicker.

Finally the fourth champion was announced by the blow of a whistle. It seemed that everybody had forgotten the prejudice against him as a huge cheer erupted from the stands when Harry walked out.

He looked petrified.

As soon as he had stepped into the ring the battle began. "Accio fire bolt!" was heard above the screaming and cheering as he began to promptly avoid the hungarian horn tail and her eggs. Not minutes later the broomstick was flying through the air towards him and then they were both in the sky. Harry, and the dragon.

"What's going on?!" Ginny asked frantically.

The dragon broke free from her chains and Harry had to work to stay away from it flying up and away, back towards the castle with the dragon in hot pursuit.

Panic arose from the crowds as they looked on from the stands, they could vaguely see the horn tail chasing Harry through the sky and screams of distress were heard when they disappeared from view.

But then Harry was back in no time with the golden egg in his hand and the dragon under wraps from the keepers.

Ginny could sigh in relief when she saw that Harry and Ron had made up, she couldn't stand them not being friends. It just wasn't right! She could see the joy on Harry's face as Ron congratulated him and apologised.

Ginny cheered with the rest of Hogwarts as Harry placed in first. Thank Merlin they finally got their heads out of their arses and realised that it's not a crime to support a Tri Wizard champion. So what if he's 14?

There was a huge party thrown in the Gryffindor common room for Harry's win, he had tied for 1st with Krum!

"Go on Harry open it!" Several people gestured to the egg and pushed him into the middle of a large group. Ginny looked on in excitement as he unclamped the latch and opened the egg. A distressing blood curdling scream erupted filling the entire common room. Ginny swiftly covered her ears, bent over in shock and pain as the sounds made their way into her mind, scratching it's talons on her brain.

Thankfully he quickly snapped it shut again and the Gryffindor's were relieved of their pain.

"What the bloody hell was that?!" Ron asked as he carefully uncovered his ears. Harry shrugged but looked equally distressed. "Sounds like Percy singing! Maybe you've got to attack him when he's in the shower Harry!" George grinned but Ginny elbowed him in the ribs and he doubled over. She's always been a bit more protective of Percy.

"Don't be daft. It's a clue. You've gotta figure it out." Ginny laughed as George rolled his eyes mumbled curse words under his breath.
