"Well, look at the time I think I should go see how much work Celina is done with and you should also go rest Navia. I heard from Paul that you weren't so well a few days ago."
"I'm alright now so please don't worry Sir Mekiel and also you really seem to be enjoying yourself."
"Indeed I am."
Mekiel said laughing as he left the room. After a few minutes Navia left with a lot of thoughts in her mind.
'I left the room looking happy and unsuspecting but I'm very concerned, that look she had on her face. It was for only for a split second but I remember it very clearly. She has caught on to something and it's going to be very difficult if we're going to keep hiding a few parts of the story.'
Mekiel lightly knocked on the door of Celina's office and entered before she could answer.
Celina was busy reading a file so Mekiel just sat on the chair in front of her desk without disturbing her work.
They sat in silence for a few minutes with only the occasional sound of scribbling filling the room."Are you here to watch me work? Wouldn't you get bored soon, why don't you act a little productive and organize your work area for once."
"That's not why I'm here and my work area is always clean."
"Oh really? Remember the last time I opened one of the drawers of that desk of yours? Every thing just few out like they were begging for some air in that cramped space."
Celina said while chuckling.
"It was a long time ago_"
"It was a month ago."
"Ahem, let me remind you we aren't here to talk about me are we?"
"No, I am sorry to interrupt you, you can continue."
"So, while I was telling Navia about the train incident, the conversation pretty much went how it always does but."
"But?"
"We decided to only tell Navia the good sides to Katherine so I made up a name to tell her about the man in black incident."
"What name?"
"I told her the man in black was looking for someone named Walter instead of Waldie. Though I think she suspects something because she made a very grim expression, even if only for a second, but it was there."
Celina had been constantly working while listening to Mekiel up until now but this was the first time since he entered the room has she bothered to stop writing and look at him.
*Sigh*
Celina closed the file while sighing and then looked at Mekiel with a very dissatisfied expression.
"It seems we can't hide anything from her anymore."
"Wait. What? Weren't you the one who wanted to not tell her about Katherine's bad sides?"
"I did but we have no choice Mekiel. Think about it if she really has caught on to something then it's meaningless to keep lying when she already knows the truth."
"And what if she hasn't?"
"Even then we'd have to tell her because regardless of how much I want her to know Katherine as a good person the forthcoming events of our story will be very difficult to explain if we keep hiding the truth and we can't just skip a whole incident for our own convenience now can we. Besides I'm already tired of hiding things from people."
Celina said with a very hurt smile leaving Mekiel speechless due to the sudden confession.
"We already knew this would happen when we decided to let our story be written. It was just my selfishness that kept me from telling Navia the truth."
"It is true that we decided to open up but we didn't know the person who would write our story would pry so much."
"That's not true Mekiel. Navia deserves to know all parts of the story. If we give her half of the truth then it will be equivalent to betrayal for her even though we might not think of it as a big deal but to her it is a life long achievement which we would deprive her of due to my selfishness. She does not deserve this."
"..."
"I also think that she might be able to show us the sides of Katherine we were unaware of because even to this day we don't know anything about who, why and what was Katherine."
"Now that you say this Celina, I have felt this for quite a while now but never put it into words. It's as if Katherine was an important part of our lives but we weren't a part of hers and knowing this breaks my heart."
"Mine does too Mekiel, but regretting it is not going to keep us from making another mistake we might regret in future. So I think we should tell everything properly to Navia tomorrow as soon as we see her."
"I have said this to you earlier as well Celina but I'll say it again. If that is the choice you have made then I'll support you Celina."
"Thank you Mekiel. Let's wait for tomorrow and hope for the best to happen."
~The Next Morning~
"So you are telling me you have been lying to me this entire time. How much have you lied about and how much of it was true."
Navia asked in a very angry tone but Mekiel and Celina were prepared and stayed calm while talking to Navia.
"Not all of it was true but not all of it was false either Navia. We have not lied to you we only hid a few instances and changed a few names. That's all."
'Celina I think hiding the truth is taken equivalent to lying you idiot.'
Mekiel said thought to himself with a very shocked expression while on the other hand Navia struggled to keep an angry expression on her face regardless of how much she wanted to laugh at the immaturity of two so called mature adults.
"I am very sorry Master, Mistress and Miss Navia to have interrupted your conversation but we must to leave now if you wish to bored the train back to Arvania."
"Yes thank you Paul we will be there in a minute."
Celina said with a serious expression on her face.
"I believe we should leave now Sir Mekiel, Madam Celina."
"We weren't done explaining yet Navia."
Mekiel said in a worried tone.
"I'm very sorry Sir Mekiel but I need a little time to organize my thoughts, I hope you understand."
"Yes, also we are very sorry and we want you to know this Navia."
"I will try to accept your apology."
Navia said making a very hurt expression, but in reality...
'I already knew everything but it's very enjoyable to watch them a little flustered for once but I better not tell them or I won't see a tomorrow.'
And thus the trio boarded the train back to Arvania, with a lot of worrying and a little bit of enjoyment.
