Chapter 4

Mackenzie's P.O.V.

I wake up around 10 a.m. and go to the kitchen to eat breakfast. I eat some Fruity Pebbles and then watch some tv. Around 12 I decide to should go take a shower, since I am going to Hayes' place at 2. When I get put of the shower it's around 12:30. I decide that since I'm just going to his house to wear something comfortable. I decide on some black sweatpants and an old football t-shirt. I put my hair in a ponytail and put on some light makeup. I then put on my tennis shoes. When I'm completely ready, it's 1:55 so I decide to start walking over. I text Hayes to let him know.

M- I'm about to come over.
H- ok see u in a min beautiful!

Omygosh! Hayes just called me beautiful! I wonder if he likes me? Oh well why does it even matter? It's not like I'm aloud to date anyways. I can't date until I'm 16. 1 more year.

Hayes P.O.V.

Mackenzie just texted me and said she was on her way. I'm wearing a black t-shirt, tan khaki shorts, and my black vans. When I hear a knock on the door, I start to panic. A weird feeling sweeps across me. I've never felt this way around a girl before. What's happening to me? Whatever it is, I hope I get over it.

When I got to answer the door, Nash asks me who it is.

N- Who's at the door?

H- no one.

N- is it a girl

H- maybe.

N- do u like her?

H- I don't really know. Just leave me alone okay?

N- fine. But I wanna talk to u after she leaves.

H- ok fine. Whatever. Just leave.

After Nash leaves I open the door. What was that all about, Mackenzie asks. Nothing, I reply. Ok. So what u wanna do? She says. Umm we can go watch a movie if you want I tell her. OK sounds good. She says back. We decide on Mockingjay Part 1. Towards the middle of the movie Mackenzie starts to fall asleep. She ends up lying on my lap asleep at the end of the movie. When it's over I wake her up and tell her she should probably leave because we have school tomorrow and it's already 8. She looks so beautiful and I have a strong urge to kiss her, but I don't. Instead, I walk her to her house and say goodnight. Again, I have an urge to kiss her, so I lean in to do it, but she stops me. She tells me it's too soon and goes inside. I am soo embarassed right now.

When I get back home, Nash is waiting for me at the door. I'm seriously about to cry. I don't wanna talk to him so I just keep walking, But he follows me up to my room.

N- what's wrong little bro? The girl not like u back?

H- The girl has a name, it's Mackenzie! And no, that's not it.

N- well than what's wrong?

H- I tried to kiss her!

N - and then what?

H- she stopped me. She said it was to soon. I am so embarassed.

N- little bro it's fine. Just give it a couple of days. Why don't you text her and invite her over tomorrow? Maybe we can go on a double date this weekend when Lindsay comes?

H- ok ya. I'll text her and ask if she wants to hang out after school. Thx Nash.

N- no problem little bro.

After mine and Nash's conversation I text Mackenzie.

H- Hey I'm sorry about tonight.

M- don't worry about it.

H- ok. U wanna hang out after school 2mrrw?

M- ya! Sounds great!

H- ok. You can ride home with Nash and me.

M-ok! See u 2mrrw!

H- ok bye!

I really want Mackenzie to be my girlfriend.
