Breakfast was a quiet affair after Mars caught Draco staring at Cedric. She chose not to bring it up, not having the effort to argue with him. The misty morning was a downer on the threes mood, none of them in the mood to strike up a conversation until Snape swished by handing out timetables.

"Fewley, Malfoy and Rosier" He drawled, handing the three of them a piece of parchment.

"What do you guys have first period?" Jake asked, reaching over to grab Mar's paper.

"Have a look for yourself" she replied handing it to him.

"Sick we have basically all the same lessons except I'm doing alchemy and you're doing Astronomy. I can't believe you actually want to waste your time staring at stars."

"Shut up Jake, you are literally learning about the elements. The stars tell a story. You are just learning about water and shit."

"Calm down Mars i was joking"

"Jesus shut up Jake." She was quickly losing her short temperature. Draco who has been sitting silent throughout the squabble spoke up.

"I agree with Mars here Astronomy is more interesting than Alchemy '' Mars didn't speak knowing if she continued to bicker with Jake it would end with her losing her temper.

"Right well we have potions first period we should probably get ready and start walking" Jake changed the subject sensing an argument.

"Yeah have you heard we have a new potions master. Snape finally got his chance as DADA professor. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes less of a defense against it and more just dark arts." Mars spoke standing up throwing her bag over her shoulder. They began walking out of the grand hall into a group of Gryffindor first years, standing in the entrance blocking the way. Mars glared at them but none of them noticed. She pushed through a few causing them to quiet down until she thought a stunning spell and sent a poor boy flying. They all gasped and parted ways for her to go through. She chuckled triumphantly as Jake threw his arm over her shoulder.

"That's our Slytherin Queen," He said, kissing the side of her head. Draco said nothing but looked at Mars noticing the differences in her this year. She had a new air, one of maturity. He had been thoroughly impressed by her wandless and silent magic but didn't say anything about it. That wasn't the Malfoy way. Draco allowed his eyes to drag down her body taking in how she looked in the tiny school skirt and blouse that he could faintly see her lace bra through. He groaned in his head feeling himself harden slightly. He looked away quickly realising they had arrived at the classroom. They walked in and sat down at their table, Pansy and Blaise were already seated.

"Goodmorning Class! I am your new professor, Professor Slughorn. I am sure we will all be wonderful friends if you could all circle this table. I have a few potions for you to see this morning." The class stood up and walked to a desk near the front of the class with impressive looking equipment on top. Hermione Granger was first as always quickly standing at the front eagerly. At the sight Mars rolled her eyes. She held nothing against the girl but wished she would calm down a bit. She stood near the edge with the rest of her friends surrounding her. As the professor opened his mouth to speak, the door opened with Harry Potter and Weasly standing in it.

"Ah Harry my boy!" the professor greeted. After a few minutes Harry and Ron were standing around the table with the rest of the group.

"Can anyone tell me what potion this is?" He motioned to the potions. Hermione's arm shot up everyone in the class glancing at her.

"Yes miss..?"

"Granger, sir." she paused walking closer "That one there is Veritserum. It's a truth telling serum. And that one is terribly difficult to make. This is Amortentia, the strongest love potion in the world. It's rumoured to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them." She spoke gravely and paused again dramatically. Mars stifled a laugh as Hermione started again.

"For example I smell freshly mown grass, new parchment and spearmint toothpaste.." She trailed off at the end causing Mars to laugh out loud. Professor slughorn looked at her.

"Yes miss?"
"Fewley." She spoke confidently.

"Ah Mars Fewley. One of my own" He said gesturing to the slytherin badge on her robes.

"Yes sir."
"Well perhaps you can tell me what the other potion is." Mars barely glanced at it; the distinctive equipment had told her from the start what it was. Without missing a beat she replied.

"That sir is Felix Felicis. Also known as liquid luck. Makes the drinker lucky for a period of time, during which everything they attempt will be successful. It is meant to be used sparingly, however, as it causes giddiness, recklessness, and dangerous overconfidence if taken in excess."

"Exactly! 10 points to slytherin for the perfect answer. Now today you will spend the lesson creating The Draught of living death. The first to finish shall receive the tiny vial of liquid luck" As the students began walking back to their desks he stopped them.

"No this won't do you can't sit half Slytherin and half Gryffindor. I will choose your seats." Mars zoned out until she heard her name

"Mars, Harry, Draco and Ron here please." Mars picked up her stuff and sat next to Harry who looked nervously at the Slytherin. She didn't hold anything against Harry unlike the majority of Slytherin. She sent him a small smile causing him to blink quickly, confused. They began working swiftly. She knew the recipe well and worked rapidly; she glanced around watching people cut Sopophorous beans with a smirk. She leant over to Harry and whispered

"Don't cut it, crush it." He looked at her questionably watching as she crushed it. He shrugged and copied her. She finished quickly raising her hand.

"Do you need some help dear"

"No, I'm finished." Slughorn blinked surprised

"Oh. Let me test it" He walked over and inspected the potion he looked up amazed

"This is perfect Miss Fewley. As promised the potion." He handed it to her and she smiled at him slightly. She caught Malfoy staring at the potion slightly with a wistful look. The class ended and they all began leaving.

"Hey Mars?" Mars turned around as Potter ran after her

"Why did you help me" He asked

"You have never done anything to me Harry. You were next to me and I knew the book was wrong." She chuckled and turned around catching up with her friends leaving Harry standing there, mouth open. She caught up with her friends and grabbed Dracos wrist pulling him into a nearby broom closet.

"Wha-" He started before she cut him off.

"shush. Here take this i don't need it and i saw the way you looked at it. I'm not going to ask what you need it for just take it." She pushed the tiny vial into his hand as he stood there in shock. She began to open the door and slide out when he pulled her back in and latched his mouth onto hers beginning to roughly kiss her.

"Thank you." He muttered before leaving.
