The silence that surrounded them was painfully uncomfortable and awkward. Given any other circumstances, the current situation would have been something as cliche as a scene out of a k-drama or a cheesy romance film. It would have been the scene where romance was blossoming, and blushes would adorn the couple’s cheeks. However, [Name] and Taehyung’s situation was anything but normal and other circumstances were in fact, not given. What should have been stop at a cute cafe, and a small part of their first big date, was time they spent mindlessly. They merely  twirled their straws in their beverages, and stared at their drinks.

[Name] and Taehyung had so many ideas for conversations they wanted to have on this date, things they wanted to do, and show one another. However, they could not do anything that they wanted. Their first date did not even feel like their own because everything that was happening, was happening according to Jungkook, and what he wanted for them.

Jungkook stared at [Name] and Taehyung, who were sitting together. He was sitting opposite from them across the table. He was the odd ball out of them three, and he was the only one indulged in drinking his beverage. Simultaneously, he stared at his friends with wide and intense eyes. Moments later, Jungkook pulled the drink away from his lips and frowned.

“I’ve seen in movies that first dates can be uncomfortable but you guys have known each other for ages, and were all up in each other while you were at my place. Why are you suddenly being so shy and awkward with each other? Start speaking. I want to see you being cute together,” He said, and smiled at them gleefully. His intentions, on his behalf, were innocent. However, to [Name] and Taehyung, especially Taehyung, it felt like an invasion of their privacy.

Out of the two, [Name] was more of the saint, and Taehyung was the one who had the hot temper. From the corner of her eye, [Name] saw how Taehyung had been clenching his fist in annoyance. This meant that he was beginning to reach the ends of his patience with Jungkook.

Frankly speaking, she was also starting to become uncomfortable with how invested Jungkook had been in their lives as of lately. It was like his entire world just revolved around them, and nothing else. Deep down, she knew that this was the case, and the reality it was leading to, was merely a bridge waiting to be burned. However, the way [Name] felt for Jungkook always overrode any negative emotions she may feel for him. She decided that it was best for her to take charge, before Taehyung did something he would regret later on.

She settled her hand on top his hand that was formed into the fist. She grasped it slightly firmly in order to reassure Taehyung. Meanwhile, she smiled sweetly at Jungkook. Her unexpected touch had caused Taehyung to turn his head towards her with slight widened eyes. He watched her silently as she spoke to Jungkook.

“We feel a bit too hungry to talk right now, sorry to disappoint you Jungkook. Maybe if we had something to eat first, we could probably get in the mood for affection after we get some energy. Would you mind getting us some sandwiches from the counter please?” [Name] asked, and Taehyung raised an eyebrow because that had come out of nowhere. His eyes flickered to Jungkook, who also appeared to be confused by [Name]’s sudden request. But nonetheless, he nodded, and obliged without question, like he mostly always did whenever [Name] asked him for something.
