You and Kaeya were clearing out some hilichurls when a huge Cryo slime attacked. Not being prepared, you got a direct blast of the cold. Now Kaeya is trying his best to heat you up until the two of you arrive back in Mondstadt.

🌸 Fluff Saga: Episode 1

--------------

"We're almost there, (Y/N), hold out for a tad bit longer, " Kaeya murmured, pulling me close to him as we made our way closer to the gates of Mondstadt.

I sighed and shivered, instinctively pulling his long coat closer to my small body.
"It's so cold.... I can't feel my ears anymore.."

The gates of the city grew closer, and I thought of the warmth of the tavern. Hopefully, we'd make it there before it was too late.... right?

Kaeya relaxed slightly as we made it through the gates of the City of Freedom. I shivered again, shaking slightly.

His arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer to his body. It was surprisingly warm, despite us having been out in the cold night for all that time.

We made our way towards the tavern, the lit lanterns in the shop windows and the ornaments hanging from the lines bathed the plaza in a fiery orange glow.

The moon shown down on the plaza, giving it a romantic feeling. The hues of blue and orange filled the fountain water's reflection.

Hurrying past the many civilians in the plaza, we promptly found ourselves at the door to the tavern. Kaeya reached for it, opening it and pushing me inside to feel the warmth of the bustling busyness.

The heat made me feel like I was melting. Taking a moment, I soaked in the warmth, like a cold blooded reptile basking in the hot sun to stay warm at night. The smell of wine and the warmth in the air made me feel comforted and at home.

The door closed behind me, snapping me out of my overly pleasant thoughts. I felt a pair of gloves hands guide me to a stool at the bar. I sat down, still feeling like my body was defrosting in some way.

Kaeya plopped down in the stool beside me, sighing in relief.

"That was a close one, wasn't it (Y/N)?"

He flashed me a small smile and winked at me. I grinned back, sheepishly.

"I'm sorry for that.. I should have been prepared, " I said, apologizing for being so unprepared for the situation.

Kaeya just chuckled and patted me on the head, telling me not to worry about it.

"After all, I get to have a nice drink at the tavern to relax after what happened. Order yourself something, it's on me tonight."

I sighed, relieved to be ok. After tonight, a bit of relaxation is needed. I order myself an apple cider as Kaeya orders his death after noon. I giggle, realizing that I would probably have to deal with a drunk boy tonight.

A tired sigh brings my attention back to the bar. I slowly look up, smiling at the redhead glancing down at me. Diluc returns the smile with a small grin of his own before turning to Kaeya.

"No. Absolutely not. You are allowed only two more Death after Noon's today, Kaeya. No more than that. I refuse to carry you home again, " Diluc said, glaring at the midnight haired individual sitting in front of him.

Kaeya chuckled, setting his glass down for his brother to refill it.

"What are you going to do, Diluc? Scold me like our mother used to do? Kick me out of the tavern like you so desperately want to do now? Or, perhaps, throw me out with the trash in the back?"

"I wouldn't throw you out with the trash, and while I want to, I can't kick you out of the tavern as you have the right to be here. However, I will continue to warn you and scold you about your alcohol consumption, you damn alcoholic"

I sighed as I watched the two brothers bicker with each other. It was a perfect way to end the night.

"You two get along about as well as night and day, " I stated, swishing the remaining liquid in my glass around, catching both young men's attention.

"Diluc is like the shimmering sun, always bringing out truth and what not and looking out after the moon in his own discreet way, despite keeping up the facade that he doesn't like the moon. Your attacks feel reasonably hotter and stronger in the bright sun light."

I paused for a minute, thinking of a way to describe Kaeya.

"Kaeya, you're like the moon. You control the dark and are exceptionally well at fighting in the moonlight. Monsters rarely stand a chance against your cold Cryo attacks combined with the chilling winds of midnight. The sun humors you, yet deep down you still care."

I giggled softly at the confused expressions of the two boys. I loved to confuse them like this, it was one of my favorite things to do when they fought. It made things feel normal again.

Kaeya chucked at my description of him and Diluc scowled slightly, turning towards the other side of the counter to server another customer.

"So, (Y/N), do you feel warm enough yet?" Kaeya asked, drinking his final glass of liquor. I nodded as he reached over and held my hand in his, carefully going over the rough marks that formed from fighting so hard.

"I'm content knowing that you're fine, (Y/N), " He smiled, bringing my hand up to his lips and planting a gentle kiss upon my hand. A light blush dusted my cheeks.

"Now, " Kaeya said, turning back to the bar, "let's get wasted, shall we?"

I watched in astonishment as he ordered another glass of wine. Diluc shot him a dirty look from the other side of the bar, the disapproval apparent in his blood red eyes.

Sighing, I took a swig of my now room temperature apple cider.

Tonight should get interesting..
