"Kim be quiet because that don't even sound right" said Sincere. "You be quiet because it was a genuine statement" Kim said "that's the problem" Sincere said.
I honestly don't know what's going on my mind been wondering all day. I barely had any sleep last night. I don't even know why I was up.
"Alya" Kim said knocking me out my thoughts. I looked over to her. "I'm going to get something to eat you want some" she asked.
"What you getting" I asked going to wash my clients hair. "I honestly don't know yet" she said laughing a little as I check the water temperature.
"Girl you a fool just lemme know" I said laughing a little. "Will do" she said walking away grabbing her purse and Sincere keys. "Hold on Sincere letting you drive the whip" I said looking at Sincere.
"She begged me with that face she always be doing" Sincere said shaking her head as she focus on doing her clients hair. "As long as she stay away from my Lexus" I said massaging my client scape.
"Girlll you and this damn Lexus" Sincere said laughing. "I love Lola" I said smiling as I finish up washing my clients hair.
"I know you did not name your car I know you didn't" Kim said laughing. "Aren't you supposed to be getting us food" I said playfully rolling my eyes and grabbing a towel.
" I am byeeee,hey Ms.Shelby" she said as she leave the shop while Ms.Shelby walk in. "Hey Ms. Shelby how you doing" I said walking my client to my chair.
"I'm good baby my grandson just got married I'm so proud of him" she said smiling from ear to ear. Ms. Shelby have been talking about how she wanted to see her grandson get married for years.
She talk about him so much I feel like I know him personally. "That's good I'm happy for you and him" I said turning on the over head dryer. "Me too because I thought he was going to be single forever" Sincere added making all of us laugh
Hearing MS.Shelby talk about her grandson helped us discover that he was a little on the weird side. I'm happy someone likes it I guess. Seeing this smile on Ms. Shelby face make me smile and think about how proud my grandma would be when I get married.
My grandma was my biggest supporter and one of my only escapes from my mom until she died when I was 15 and my life took a bigger turn.
I no longer had her telling me to pursue what made me happy instead of my mom. Even though my mom hurt me in more ways than one I always in the back of my head wanted her to be proud of me.
When she didn't show up to my graduation that was what showed me that I could never please her I had to please my self so nothing was stoping me from getting in that car and leaving.
Of course it was a hard hit of responsibilities but I choose bills over abuse any day.
"Alya" I heard snapping me out of my thought. I look over to see Sincere. "Wassup" I asked turning off the dryer and pulling it up from my client.
"You was in space for a minute there" she said laughing before adding. "Kim said what you want from JJ's" she asked.
"The usual" I answer going back to my client with products to do box braids. As I section off her hair my phone ring in my pocket making me grab it putting it to my ear and resuming to parting.
"Yello" I said to Jas on the other line. "Hey girly let's go to Hudson Grill today" she said . Jas and I have been consistent with making sure we catch up at least once a week.
"I'm good with that" I said opening the hair pack. "Ok cool imma let you get back to work then see you at 7 you coming to pick me up?" She asked.
"Yep" I said nodding my head like she can see me. "Ok byeeee" she said hanging up. I continued to do my clients hair.
6:20pm
I walk in my door going straight to the shower to get the hair smell off of me. I'm running a little behind. I was supposed to leave the shop early but I had a walk in that I couldn't refuse.
After about 25 minutes I get out the shower going to my closet grabbing my outfit I sat out this morning. I lotioned up then put on my clothes and grabbing my purse and keys heading out the door.
As I drive to pick up Jas she called. "I'm sorry I'm running a little late but I'm on the way now" I said stopping at a red light. "It's cool I was calling to make sure you was good" she said
"Yea I'm good I should be there in like 7 minutes" I said just as the light turned green. "Aight cool see you then" she said then hanging up.
After 30 minutes Jas and I was finally at the restaurant.
"What you getting imma get a good ass burger" Jas said smiling. "I think imma get that too" I said nodding.
"Hey I'm your waiter David can I start you with some drinks" the waiter asked. "I'm going to get a margarita" Jas said. "And I'm going get a lemon drop and we are also ready to order" I said
"Ok" he said. After we ordered we engaged in a conversation.
"Sooo how are things with you and Tyler" Jas asked. "Girllllllll"
