7-2: The New You Part 2

I was up pretty early the following morning, even for a school day. I had slept like a rock, and awoke feeling great, and also over a half an hour before my alarm was set.

I decided to take a bit of time to check out the mysterious suit. I considered many of the things I had seen it do last evening, and figured I might as well test just what some of them were.

I had worn it in the pajama form that night (very comfortable, I might add), and it was still just the same when I woke up. I stood in front of my mirror, however, and thought about the suit as it had been last night.

So...can we switch back to that?

After a brief second, the clothing quickly stretched out and spread across my body to tightly cover it, the color returning to deep black, and once the whole suit had been formed, the large white insignia appeared on my chest again. It even stopped partway up my neck, as I'd wanted to avoid fully masking up. Interestingly, in this state, it didn't form a clean neck line, but instead seemed almost like sprawling tendrils that had suddenly stopped. I looked over the suit again. It did look pretty good. I had gotten use to my appearance in a very tight outfit, but somehow, I felt I looked even better.

"Hmm..." I muttered. "Can we go more discrete, though?"

In a matter of a couple seconds, the suit reshaped, becoming a sleek black leather jacket over my top, and a pair of black jeans on the bottom.

I rubbed my hand through my hair. "Well...it looks good, but we might need to work on our definition of discrete."

After a moment, it shifted again, and settled into a plain black t-shirt, and black track pants with a white stripe down the side.

"Better..." I shrugged. Don't suppose it does anything other than black...

I decided I could mess around with it more some other time. Right now, the scientist in my head was going nuts, and I just had to look at this thing up close.

I moved to my desk and pulled out a pair of forceps from a science kit I'd had for years. I tapped it on my hand for a moment, then positioned it over the sleeve of the shirt. "Hopefully it doesn't mind." I gently used it to pull at a small section, and with a little bit of effort, a chunk about the size of a watch face separated from the rest.

As I looked at it for a moment, the spot that had been removed quickly patched itself up, with small black tendrils criss-crossing the hole, and you wouldn't have even been able to tell a piece had been removed. The separate piece, however, no longer appeared like a piece of cloth, but some sort of black ooze, barely solid enough to hold. It was also moving about just a bit, almost squirming a bit.

"...Okay..." I sat down at the desk and used my free hand to pull over my microscope (I get it, I'm a nerd), and pulled out a small dish where I set the piece of the suit.

"Alright..." I moved the dish into place and began to adjust the device's settings, "...let's see what you're about."

Even as I finished setting up, the piece was still barely wriggling in place. I centered it under the scope and took a look in. I don't know exactly what I expected to find. This wasn't too powerful of a microscope, but close enough that I should be able to see some of the basic building blocks of it, namely cells if it had any. What I got however was something unlike anything I'd ever seen.

The light form the microscope still did nothing to change the color, every little piece was pure black. Interestingly enough, it didn't seem to have much structure at all, and even at small scale, it seemed to be a mass of writhing liquid. I rubbed my hand through my hair, very unsure what to make of it. As I reached my hand for the dish again, the piece noticeably extended toward me. "Woah." I kept my hand there and looked into the scope, where I now saw it segmenting a bit.
