He stood there a look on his face not even the devil could pull. He put down his whiskey glass and looked me up and down. "Where's your uniform your shift started five minutes ago". I looked down at what I was wearing and forgot I had left my bag in Drew's car.
"I left it out in Drew's car I'll go get changed now" I went to turn around but his voice stopped me. "So you and him are a thing now after what knowing him five seconds"he spoke with a hint of anger in his voice but his eyes spoke thousands that his voice never betrayed.
I didn't know how to play my next card, should I be sassy and push his buttons or should I be the shy innocent girl both him and I know I am. My mouth spoke before my brain could process my next move. "No we are not anything. Whether we were our not it wouldn't be any of your concern for I know how to keep my personal life out of my work life" I was dumbfounded at how I just spoke to him like that but was proud in that moment of myself.
"Whether you like it or not that is my concern, now go get changed it's already busy out there" and with that he grabbed his glass and went behind his desk. It infuriated me how he ended all of our conversations.
I was now changed and out of the floor. Drew wasn't kidding when he said Friday nights were busy. Drew was following me around which I was thankful for because the guys sitting at these tables in suits look like they wanted a piece of every female in the building.
"So what can I get for ye gentlemen"I asked as nicely as possible without looking up. "Two vodkas and a whiskey clean" "I'll happily have you" two voices were talking to me but I walked away after getting their order. One of the guys got up after me I wasn't to far from the bar and I looked up and watched as Scar watched the guy behind me.
He switched his gaze to me and pressed something in his ear but the guy had already grabbed my elbow. I froze,my body was roaring at me to move but Scars eyes had me held in place. I felt his hand remove and Drew casually had the guy by the throat nobody seeming to notice.
I walked up to the bar slightly shaking and handed Scar my order. I knew I had had enough of the music and slimy men so I decided to tell Tasha I was going for my twenty minute break and could she take over my tables.
I walked into Scars office and took an apple from my bag that I left on the chair. I slowly slid onto the couch and placed my head in my hands. All I could think about was Scar and it annoyed me I got this job to annoy him and see him, I wanted to prove him wrong but all that's happened since I started working here is that he has had to save me multiple times and I'm constantly proving I don't belong in his world. I hate how much I crave his stares I crave the small touches or when we brush off one another.
The door opened and he strolled in, "if it's too much just quit there's no point in both of us wasting our time here". I sighed knowing that I wasn't able for the slimy men in suits just yet. I had an idea but didn't know how he would take it.
"Put me behind the bar" silence that's what I was met with nothing not a grunt a smirk even a loud sigh nothing. He had his back to me over by the bar in his office. I walked slowly over so that he was behind the bar and I was in front of it.
"It wouldn't work you need to be fast and remember orders being roared at you" he all but said. "Give me a chance cmon I'm still on a trial"
He strode around the bar and caged me in. "Zara all I have been doing is giving you chances and I regret it every time but I can't seem to fire you" he breathed out heavily. My stomach was erupting in butterflies and his aftershave was knocking any sense I had left in me out.
His lips touched my exposed collarbone and my mind was mush. "I will collect and drop you home every time you have a shift at my bar" he held a bit of skin in his mouth while saying all of this. He pulled my body flush against his and I held onto his shoulders for some support before my jelly ass legs gave up on me.
"You still have two hours of your shift left, do you want to go home or stay working the floor til tomorrow night and you'll be behind the bar with me" he moved away from me and drank his whiskey after he spoke.
I didn't know whether I was imagining all this or I was in some alternative universe. His bipolar mood swings had my head reeling. I hated how he had me in trance but loved it at the same time he made my whole body ignite every time he touched me and I craved it. I was still determined to prove him wrong that I did belong here. I sucked in a deep breath and walked to his office door. "I'll be fine I've got this" I made sure to strut of the door seating my hips. I wanted to be a bad ass bitch .
