Chapter 11

I was currently sitting in maths class making faces at Vanessa from across the room. Vanessa was nearly purple from trying to hold in her laugh and I was on the verge of peeing myself. Finally Vanessa let go and made the biggest snort of her life, she was completely and utterly dying laughing. The teacher started to yell at her which then lead to me falling literally off my chair. Hey if your best friend goes down you go down with them right?

"Vanessa, Zara you will stay behind after class and I will speak to the two of ye then"Ms.Aboney roared. All Vanessa did was smirk at me but I felt my heart sink. As much as your supposed to go down with your best friend I rarely get in trouble and now I was starting to freak out.

I knew Vanessa could feel my anxiety from across the room, she mouthed to be "everything's going to be fine" and a small smile.

The bell finally rang I slowly packed up my stuff and walked towards Vanessas table hoping Ms.Aboney had forgotten. Vanessa looked and me smirked, grabbed my hand and bolted out the door.

My heart was thumping and honestly I'm surprised it didn't pop out of my chest like in those horror movies. "Vanessa what the fuck I'm gonna be in so much trouble, I don't care I'm going back in there and apologising"

Vanessa put her hand over my mouth and just smiled at me. "Hey when have I ever let anything bad happen to you Zara" she softly said. Her words always seemed to calm me but I knew later I'd overthink this whole thing.

I must of zoned out because Vanessa started clicking her fingers in my face. "Come on I'm hungry you know what those animals are like at lunch all the chicken nuggets will be gone and then I'm gonna have to throw some hands" Vanessa started jumping around the place showing me how she would "throw hands"

I couldn't hold in my laughter at her and mentally thanked the universe for giving me such a crazy best friend.

We reached the canteen doors and Vanessa pushed them open with confidence and strutted to the canteen line whereas I made my way to our normal table keeping my eyes down cast.

I got to our table and dropped myself into the seat between Dylan and Jessica. Dylan looked at me and smiled and leaned into whisper something in my ear while staring straight at John. "So you gonna tell me what happened between you two because he's been a real dick and every time your name is mentioned he walks out"

I shrugged at him and took his apple off his lunch tray and took a big bite out of it and just smiled. Just as Dylan was about to take his Apple back Vanessa and Tyler joined the table with Vanessa giggling like crazy.

"So guys I have an idea" Vanessa started off with and every single one of us around the table groaned. Let's just say in the past Vanessa's ideas haven't been the smartest.

"Whatever it is count me out" was all John said before getting up and walking off. Jessica just rolled her eyes at his retreating figure and motioned for Vanessa to continue.

"So seen as we have no school on Monday let's go out Sunday night" she beamed at us all while Tyler just nodded in agreement with what she said.

Everyone around the table seemed interested in the idea bar me. "I dunno Van I might be working I'll have to ask tonight" I said hoping she would understand. She looked at me and smirked "Zara I told you I was taking you out every month so cmon for me make sure you can get off"
