Abbey's P.O.V
You know what I absolutly love? Going to partys. I love being around people and having fun. But you know what I absolutly hate? Being the only kid there. Yep. The only kid. Well, actually, I'm 16 years old so I'm not a kid I'm a teen BUT THAT ISN'T THE POINT AND I'M SURE YOU ALL GET IT! All of my parents friends are old people, and I mean oooold. Not that I mind, but still. Me, my parents, my sister Kelly and her boyfriend Matt were all invited to our neighbor Carla's house for a surprise birthday party for Zac's mom, Barbra. It's also a little get together since Kelly and Matt just came home early this morning from being away for 8 months.
Luckily, this time I'm not the only kid here, so I dont have to be stuck hanging with the adults. And guess who I get to hang out with? Zac and our other neighbor Amy's 5 year old grandchild named Kaylee. What fun! Seriously! I mean, hey, there's a chance I may actully get to bond with Zac, and what can a little 5 year old do to cause trouble? I think I may actully have fun at this party!
Boy how was I was wrong.
As soon as we all were gathered at Carla's house and we all said our Hello's, Zac immediately asked if he could go over to his friend Nick's house. His mom, of course, said yes. I unhappily watched him leave from the corner of my eye. My sister went straight for the Wine, which means that in less than a hour she's going to be drunk off her ass.
Greeeaat.
Then I was asked if I wanted to go into one of the backrooms and watch cartoons with Kaylee. "Okay." I replied. It must be better than staying outside in the cold air with 12 soon-to-be-drunk adults.
I mean, whats the worse that can happen?
~~~~~~~
Kill me now.
Literally, I mean it.
Please.
I flinched as the familer small neon-green foam ball came barraling at my face. It bounced off my cheek and fell into my lap. I didn't know that foam balls can actually hurt when thrown directly at you.
I stared at it for a moment before I heard Kaylee demand "Throw it back to meee!" I inwardly groaned as I picked it up and tossed it the best I can underhand into her tiny hands.
It made it in, but as soon as it did Kaylee threw her hands up in the air, making the ball fly out. We both watched it roll away out the door and into the hallway.
Kaylee gave me the evil eye. "Your trying to murder me!" she accused, doind her best to snap her fingers in a 'Z' formation.
Here we go again.
"Me?" I asked. "Nooo! Your the one that made it fly outta your hands! I only threw it!" She rolled her eyes at me as she crawled into the hallway to retreve the ball.
We've repeated this process over and over again for the past hour. At first, it was really nice playing with her. We watched TV for a while before becoming bored so I showed her how to be a Ninja and we snuck out into the Kitchen and spied on the adults outside and we'd squeal and run back down the hallway if they saw us and run back into this small reckroom. Then we'd fall on the floor and lay staring at the sealing fan wondering which switch turned it on because we were really hot from running around. See, fun right?
Then Zac came back and I made a complete fool of myself infront of him twice. The first time was when he was in the Kitchen filling up his plate and me and Kaylee ran in so I could throw away my empty soda can and when we were running back to the reckroom, I ran by him and said "You never saw us here because we are ninjas." and he was like "Ummm okay."
