When you all first met it was true love. You and Alex had known each other because you two had went to high school together. With some luck, you both been accepted into the same college but for two different reasons. You were fixing to be a biologist and study animal behavior. While Alex was majoring in Politics and you sometimes joke, arguing for no reason. You had gotten a job at a local coffee shop and you and Alex were talking when John, Lafayette, and Hercules walked in. You hit off immediately and soon started dating each other.

It started slowly and nobody noticed at first. When cuddling, you and Alex would subconsciously inch towards each other. John, Hercules, and Laf started to move away slightly until by the end of the movie, you and Alex were on one couch and the other 3 on the other. In bed, Alex and you were on one end and John, Herc, and Laf on the other side with the middle empty.

"Hey, we're going to the movies, want to come?" Alex asked, with you by his side, holding his hand.

"Nah, we're fine," John denied.

"Okay, see you later, then," You said, goodbye.

It went on like that for a while. The 3 boys and you and Alex started to drift apart. Alex and you had some sort of connection. Don't get me wrong, you loved the others, a lot. But it was more of a brotherly love than one of romantic intentions. Alex, however, made your spine tingle whenever he said "baby girl" which was your nickname. You loved it when he combed through your hair.

Alex also noticed how when he talked to you, his heart soared, while with the others, he just felt like he was talking to his best friends. When you and Alex kissed, it was like angels singing down upon you and felt right. But when you two kissed the others, it felt bland and no excitement, and slight despair.

"Hey! We're going to a party, want to come?" Herc asked as you and Alex were sitting on the couch.

You both had a computer in your laps and, your legs were sitting below Alex's laptop and resting on his lap. Alex paid no attention to the question because he was deep into this work but you however looked up. You hair falling into your face from the messy bun.

"Um... we both have an essay due in a week and wanted to turn it in early for extra credit, so maybe next time," You kindly denied.

"Cool, if we're super drunk we might stay at a room in the hotel where its at," Laf warned.

"No problem," You shrugged, before your eyes went back to the page.

No hugs, kisses or goodbye's. It had been like that for a long time. The others left, quickly. You didn't even notice the door close. You stared back at the word document and continued typing.

"Hey, baby girl," Alex called.

"Yeah," You yawned.

"It's 11, we should probably head to bed," The laptop no longer putting pressure on your ankles but instead by Alex's hand slowly massaging them.

"Just one more paragraph," You suggested.

"Nope, zero more paragraph," Alex swiped the laptop out of your grasp.

You didn't whine or complain but let Alex tempt you upstairs to bed. He put away all the books that you could read. You went to take a shower and came back to bed with Alex watching the door for you to step back in. He smiled when you entered. You curled up against his bare chest when he suddenly spoke.

"I've noticed something," Alex started.

"What?" You asked, sleepily.

"I don't love the others anymore," Alex put it bluntly.
