Chapter 3

                                                            Lilyanna

I was absolutely mortified. My parents have never known me to have any interest in guys but here they were. Staring at us. But to my surprise they didn't look mad. Just.... embarrassed for me.

"Uh Lily honey....what's going on? And who is this young man? We came home early because of the storm that is supposed to come in. I didn't expect to find you here like this though." My dad said in a chuckle.

Alex stood up immediately and explained in a panic.

"Uh hello sir. I'm Alex Greenwich. See what happened was we walked here from school to work on our homework and well you see it started to rain so Lily offered me some of you're clothes because mine were soaked and then I went in to the bathroom to change. When I came out I heard Lily crying and without knocking I rushed in to see if she was okay. I'm so sorry sir. I should've knocked, I just..."

By then he had to take a breath. Poor guy. My dad looked at him and said  "Why don't we go downstairs and let Lily finish up in here." And with that they were off.

My mom came to me and asked  "Why were you crying sweetie? Is everything okay?"

I looked at her as I put my sweater on and decided to just come out with it. "Mom, I think Alex's dad knows. See, he is my principal and Alex had told me that his dad didn't really want him hanging out with me."

Those last words made me sob a little. I couldn't help it. It's not like I asked for this so why should I be punished. The thing that really made me upset was the fact that I hadn't even done anything wrong. Unless he knew. Why else would he not want his son to hang out with me?

"Sweetie," my mom said as she rubbed my back. Something she's always done since I was little when I was upset about something. "He does know. Who do you think told him?"

"WHAT?" I stood up in a hurry and even then I was afraid for my mother. I hadn't ever been this mad in my entire life. Not that I could remember anyways and especially not at my mom.

"Mom how could you do this?" I sat back down as I calmed myself.

"Lilyanna Luvvel calm down and let me explain. Okay, it all started when I noticed a change in you last year. You never wanted to hang out with any of your friends. Ashlee and Paisley came and told me that you didn't seem like yourself anymore and they were worried about you. You wouldn't eat or drink and you know how bad that is for you. So I had a talk with your  father and that is why we decided to come here. I knew you wouldn't mind because you loved traveling so much. I also knew you would hate the fact that you had to go to a regular public school, but see honey I wanted to give you the opportunity I never had. I wanted to give you a choice. A choice isn't something most people get. I just wanted it to be peaceful for you so you could really think about everything. In New York honey........you just well, lost yourself. There was too much going on and you seemed miserable."

She rubbed my back and continued.

"Honey, you're my daughter and I would do anything for you so when I seen how much it hurt you to be so torn I had to take this up with your father and the rest of our family. They all knew this would happen someday. They all wondered just like your father and I did, and still do. Will you become a full vampire or stay human? Honey, the choice is yours and yours only to make. That is how we know Mr. Greenwich. He had the chance once to become a vampire and he chose not to. We however, chose to. We thought it would be nice for you to meet someone who chose differently. There are so many vampires out there now a day that it doesn't matter who knows amongst us. We however, are the exception. What with who our family is and all. Mr. Greenwich isn't aware of that small detail though."
