Chapter Five

-Corpse's P.O.V-

I can't believe he just did that. What's going to happen now? Are we even soulmates?? I mean I think so but, wow... Are we still friends? I don't want to lose this friendship over a stupid misunderstanding. Was it stupid? No way this is important. Should I call him?

The phone rings a few times before Sykkuno picks up. He answers with a shaky, "H-hello." Its a relief to hear his voice. "Hey Sykkuno," dammit I sound nervous, I am nervous. Silence, awkward silence. I start, "Are you going to tell me why you said we were soulmates and then just leave?" Damn that was kinda low "I don't know."

"Do you have any proof?" I ask. Well no he probably doesn't, Corpse you idiot. "Well I-I went on the call yesterday and my mark started glowing." Oh shoot my mark is glowing. "And then I was confused so I looked it up. It said it means that I was on a phone call with my soulmate. Then it happened again when I was just texting you and then you said your initials are S.T and those are my initials. I'm really sorry I didn't text you back Corpse." Wow, I can tell the silence is making him nervous.

"Here goes nothing." I can picture the confused look on his face. I send him one message, just one. "Why did you send me a photo of your face?" Oh no no no no, instant regret. "I'm honoured, but why?" Oh he was just confused after all, sweet relief. I chuckle, "We're clearly going to be close friends Sykkuno, and I think I should give you the opportunity to see my face." I realize my mistake as soon as the words are out of my mouth. FRIENDS, I just friend-zoned my obviously in distress soulmate. What is wrong with me?

~Time Skip~

We talk for about an hour. I mention that I live in south cali. We make plans too meet up the next day. Whelp that's another sleepless night for me.
