Chapter 7

Haley's POV

I turned around slowly and I stared in the dim light at a kid who had curly brown hair and brown eyes. He had cuts and bruises on his face and he smiled at me.

"Do I know you?" I asked as he came near me

"No you don't. But you will," he said excitedly, "Name's Zane Young. I'm your older brother."

Brother? I thought.

"I don't have a brother," I said, "mommy and daddy never told me that I had a brother."

Zane sat beside me and put his arm around my shoulder.

"That's because they kept it a secret. I was born before you, obviously, and I was taken by the Fuzzy Guy when I was four. Don't you remember playing with me when you were a toddler, sis?" Zane asked.

I thought about it and I shook my head 'no.' No memory of me playing with him existed. Zane frowned and removed his arm from me. He said,

"Oh well I'm eleven years old and I have something to show you."

Without waiting for me to respond, Zane shot to his feet, grabbed my hand, and led me further back into the room. I had no choice but to follow and I saw a computer screen. It showed a news report about daddy when he was eighteen.

Adam's POV

I regained consciousness and realized I was laying in a hospital bed.

"What happened?" I asked while trying to sit up.

A nurse stopped me and made me lay back down.

"You used up all your energy Adam," she said sadly, "you need to stay in bed for at least a month."

"What?!" I exclaimed, "no! I can't! I need to save my daughter!"

She frowned and told me to calm down. I tired but I felt adrenaline run through me and I cried out in pain as I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I gasped for air and I heard a loud beeping noise coming from the heart monitor. The nurse, Carol's, eyes grew wide and she called for other nurses and doctors. They rushed to my side and stared at me. I asked what was wrong and they all pointed to my chest. I glanced down and I felt sick. My chest was glowing a weird orange color.
