We parted ways going to our own homes still confused on what happened and if it really did happen. Did I not see what I think I saw? Did I fall asleep out there? My mind is racing and my body is yearning for my bed. I open my house door to see my mom in the kitchen looking worried, I close the door slamming it so she'd notice that I'm home. She runs to me and hugs me then yells " where were you and why was your phone going straight to voicemail, I was so worried about you."
I could tell by the bags under her eyes and how low her energy was that she had not slept last night. " I was with Charlie, James and Peter last night mom" I said in a tired tone. I walked up the stairs to my room and plopped down on my bed ready to go to sleep and let my mind rest, but I couldn't sleep.
My mind was defying me, replaying what it could remember from last night. My mother yells "Terrell come downstairs" I get up and run downstairs to see her worried face. "Where is Charlie?" I looked at her confused that she knew he wasn't with us in the morning. "He should be back home in his house" I replied, "no I just got off the phone with his mother she said he hasn't come home since last night when he went to meet with you and your friends."
My heart started beating fast, Charlie wasn't an outgoing kid he went where he needed and returned home. What could he be doing? What if something's wrong . How do I reply to her with an answer I don't have? " I don't know where he went mom if he calls me I'll tell you" I walk up the stairs and go back into my room to lay down again. It's getting dark again, I need some sleep. I get under my comforter and close my eyes and fall asleep.
I woke up feeling strange, as if something was watching me in my sleep I sit up to feel my side is in pain. I place my hand on the area that's hurting, it's wet. I look at my hand and there's a little blood on it, I look up and around my room to see a dark tall long arms and legs shadow starring at me, the air became still as the silence in the room was gone, I could hear heavy breathing from the corner. I couldn't move and didn't know what to do, the air became unbreathable then it took a step toward me.
