Have you ever had a dream? A dream where you are capable of a whole lot more than what you are? Maybe a pirate traveling the seas or royalty gracing the whole kingdom. Whatever it may be, it doesn't matter. Once you wake up, you will soon forget about it, yet this feeling will remain in the pit of your stomach—that desire to be something more.

I felt it, it's always following me. That troubling feeling that something is slipping by me, a hazy memory from the past.

I shrugged it off as I continued to read a novel inside the library of our school campus. It's currently our break so I decided to relax in the comfort of books. I took a peek at my phone, our last period is about to start so I decided to stop reading the novel for now.

I may have been into medieval stuff and gaming right now but don't you think that life is similar to video games? You learn and hone your skills at school where you get to level up your preferred stats. You go and do part-time jobs to earn extra money to buy more combat stuff you can use. And then you go into real life, go do some quest and start your own adventure. If you think of life that way, then it can be fun and enjoyable. (my personal opinion ofc)

"U-uhm... This is for you.." I heard a guy stutter in the corner of the stairs so I decided to eavesdrop and take a little peek. I saw that guy with the glasses from the other class which I heard was super smart by the way. There is also a girl, but I can only see her back and her blonde hair.

"Oh, really?" She sounded so disinterested that made the guy frown a little bit. "Thank youu! oh my goshhh. Did you know that I have a thing for nerds?" Her voice became pitchy as she started being enthusiastic. I don't know but I feel like she's gonna make the guy do her homework. Queen behavior fr.

Leaving the staircase and the pair behind, I proceeded to my class and went to my seat beside the window. Makes me feel like the main character.

A tap on my shoulder left me a bit startled, I looked at my side to see a hot blonde chick smiling at me. Her red outfit is giving traditional sl*t and I am loving it.

"What is it?" I said smiling, got to get to the good side of her.

Tucking a strand of hair on the back of her ear, she graciously handed a book to me. "I heard that you like books, Lyds. Here, you can have this."

Her offering me a book sounds off to me since she and I never even interacted before. It all made sense when I examined the cover of the book. It is a romance novel, specifically the book that the nerd gave to her earlier.

Yeah, she's the girl the nerd guy likes. Damn, that's harsh. Giving a confession away to other people.

Smiling still, I took the book and thanked her.

Everybody went back to their desk as soon as the professor walked in. I fixed the clutter on my desk before paying attention to class. Just shoved it all in my bag, I'll deal with it later.

After class, the first thing I went to is the library as I sneakily put in the book on one of the shelves. I do not really want to read the book since I have the same exact copy sitting in the dust somewhere in my house.
