Well here I am!, I thought to myself as I sat at the table waiting for my date to turn up. I had just moved over to the USA from the United Kingdom. A few days into settling into the new environment and my new place a boy asked me to lunch after we bumped into each other at a local supermarket. I Sat at the table and waited for his arrival but after 30 minutes had passed and all my messages were ignored, it looked less and less likely that he was turning up. I ordered myself a small lunch and made this into a date with myself. I looked super cute too! I wore my favourite out to impress him. The whole time I was waiting, my eyes kept darting over to a table of 8. They kept laughing and talking loudly but it was cute to see a big family all get on.
The waiter soon brought over my food, I said a brief thank you and started to tuck into my food. I kept checking my phone incase he sent an apology or maybe even an 'I'm on my way' but every time I checked there was nothing. I hadn't even made friends out here yet so there wasn't anyone to rant to about this fail of date so I just continued eating and Looking at the door in case he came through it, then I looked at the family then my food again.
Halfway through eating my food the chair in front of me got pulled out. I looked up super confused to see one of the boys from the big family sitting across from me. 'Hey there' he said while smiling sweetly
' Ummm hey?' I replied confused
' Sorry this is so random but I saw you sitting here alone and I wanted to make sure you were ok!' He said charmingly
'Haha that's very sweet of you' I blushed
'So if you don't mind me asking, why are you sitting here alone?' He questioned
'It's very embarrassing but I got stood up' I cringed so hard while saying it but unfortunately it was true
'Well I, not sure how or even why someone would do that! You're so pretty!' He said shyly, I blushed even harder at his comment
'Thank you, by the way, what's your name?' I asked
'Jones, Adam Jones'
