When countries fall (end) they don't die, they sorta just disintegrate and reform. Most ex-countries take years, decades, or even centuries to reform, depending on how powerful they were when they fell. If they were powerful when they fell, they most likely would take a while to reform due to how much they had. But if they fell when they were at their weakest, they most likely would reform in a year or shorter.
This is pretty much the reason why in my AUs you read about ex-countries interacting with actual countries.
