Chapter 1

💙POV

The only thing that greeted me when I first opened my eyes, was a blinding light.

I shielded my eyes from the white shine, just for the good will of my sight. Although I was absolutely muddled.

Where am I???

Surrounding me was reflective glass. I was laying, or binded to a bed. My limbs are stuck to the metal frame of the case. My head was supported by a plastic disc, securing it straight.

Tentatively I whispered "Anyone here?"

No response. I raised my voice slightly and asked into the silence again. "Hello? Anyone here?"

Only an eerie echo of my voice remained. Vibrating again and again in my brain.

My heart rate quickened. My palms were sweating like crazy, and my already muddled brain only became more clouded from fear.

The lights flickered out into total darkness.

Panic quickly raised to pure terror. I do not know why I'm here or where this place is. The darkness descended on me like a suffocating blanket, taking away my scarce breath. My heart was beating like it was going to fly out of my chest.

Ba-boom. I frantically tried to unbind my limbs. No luck.

Ba-BOOM. I kicked desperately, seeing if it could loosen up a bit. Nope.

BA-BOOM. As a last effort, like a drowning person, I thrashed around wildly. Still, the binds wouldn't lose. Claustrophobia loomed over me and when you're in absolute terror, there's only one thing left to do.

"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP? SOMEONE'S STU—"

I faltered. The glass walls retracted slowly, so as the binds on my limbs. Suppose I'm free now...?

Sitting up slightly, I checked out the surroundings. There were monitors beeping on my right, connected to a bunch of tubes which were located on my arm. I was dressed in a white patient's gown, with my limbs lying bare. I caressed the back of my head with a hand. Short, short hair that barely touched my neck. Shuddering slightly at the chill that blew against my skin, I started to reach my legs to the floor.

The lights came on again, row by row, as my feet touched the ground. Finally, I could take a good look at my surroundings.

The place I was in had a pristine beauty to it. It was quiet, even the smallest ruffle of my nightgown could be heard. Every single thing was spotless white, as though they were all disinfected and cleaned by the most careful manner. A dome like thing shadowed over my case, perfect for me to fit my head inside it. Case after case like mine were set in rows. Cautiously, I stepped next to one of them.

Almost at once, I regretted it.

Inside the case was definitely not a human, or any mammal that you could name. It had no body whatsoever, only a straight, jelly like cylinder could describe it. There were little tentacles growing all over the fleshy cylinder, and I could swear that they were moving, while partially floating in a tub of gooey liquid, seemingly a part of the whole...inhumanly being.

"I would be careful, if I were you." A voice rang out behind me. Startled, I whipped around, holding my hands in front of me.

"Who...who are you?!"

There was only a man, much taller than me, standing a few meters away from me. The first thing I noticed was his startling beauty.

I stared at him with daggers, though I didn't know why, a bashful feeling rose within me.

"Well," the man mused. "I think I have to ask you. Who am I?"
