Chapter 5

Alx's Pov

"Ava can you come here for a second?" I yell upstairs to my daughter. She walks downstairs and I can't help but feel hurt seeing that bruise on her face. "Yes daddy?" She asks. "Where does Colton live?" I ask.

"I don't want you hurting him." She says looking down. "I promise I won't hurt him, all I want to do is talk with him." I tell her. She looks at me for a couple of seconds then tells me his address. Before I walk out of the door, Emily stops me and says, "Don't do something that will put in jail." "I won't, you have nothing to worry about." I say kissing her forehead.

I drive over to Colton's house and knock on the door. When the door opens, Colton sees me and his eyes widen. "M-Mr. Draughan w-what are you doing here?" He stutters out. "I'm here to talk to you about what happened between you and my daughter." I say.

"Do you w-want to come i-inside?" He asks. "Sure." I tell him walking in. We sit on his couch and he says, "I didn't mean to hit Ava, it's just that I had a bad day and she was there so I hit her. I didn't mean it or anything and I regretted it as soon as it happened."

"You really think I believe that? What you did to her is something you can't fix. The moment she told me what happened I wanted to kill you but I'm not going to because it will make her extremely upset and I promised my wife I wouldn't do something stupid. So to stop all of the nonsense I don't want to see you anywhere near my daughter. I don't even want you talking or texting her and if I find out you are then I'm hunting you down. This is your warning so don't make me come back here." I say standing up and walking out.

I text Emily and ask her if she wanted me to pick something up to eat then get in my car. When she texts back yes I head towards McDonald's since its further away because I want to clear my mind.

Emily's Pov

"Hy Emily where's Alx?" Zane asks me walking in the kitchen. "He went to talk to Colton about Ava and now he's going to get food." I say hopping on the counter. "Oh, well can I talk to you about something?" He asks. "Sure." I say.

"Why did you dump me?" He asks barely above a whisper. "I didn't really feel nothing anymore and my feelings for Alx didn't really help because it was pushing me further from you and my friends." I say. "If you didn't develop feelings for Alx, what would we be?" He asks.

"Well we probably would've graduated high school and probably would've got married because we were in love, or so I thought." I say. "I'm still in love with you Emily. Ever since you broke up with me I haven't stopped loving you and it hurts to see you married to Alx and to see your kids because I know that we'll never have kids or even be able to date." He confesses.

I look down because I don't know what to say and I hear him walk up to me. "Can I kiss you? Just one last time please." He begs. "No I can't, I'm married and I don't want you to think I love you back." I say pushing him away a little bit. "Emily please." He says grabbing my hands and holding them to where I can't move them.

"Zane seriously sto-" I'm cut off by Zane kissing me. Someone walks in the kitchen and I hear, "Get the hell off my wife!" Zane is pulled away from me and I see Alx punching him so I get down and wrap my arms around his waist. He calms down long enough to to tell Zane, "You have two seconds to get the hell out of my house."

Zane gets up and runs out of the house while the kids walk down stairs. They grab their food and walk back up to their rooms considering they don't want to be anywhere near Alx when he's mad. "Can we eat later? I'm too mad to eat now." Alx says. "It doesn't matter to me, I just care about you right now." I say.

"I'm fine just pissed. Could you promise me one thing though?" He asks. "What?" I ask. "Promise not to leave me for Zane or anyone else." He says looking at me. "I promise, I'm not going anywhere." I tell him.
