Chapter 8

Emily's Pov

"Is everyone packed?" I ask. "I guess." Ava and Andrew say. "Mom, were are we moving to?" Ava asks. "California." I tell her. "No! I don't want to go there. We go there and dad will have to go back to leaving everyday or having to stay somewhere for a week." She exclaims. "Ava it's the only thing we can do. I promise you'll love California." I tell her. "Mom I don't want to go." She says. I'm about to say something else but Alx walks in. "Alx, can you talk to Ava considering she won't listen to me?" I ask. "What's wrong?" He asks looking at us. "I don't want to move all the way to California." Ava says looking at him.

"Why not?" He asks. "Because once we're there you're going to be gone all of the time and we'll never see you." She says looking down. "Ava I won't be gone all of the time, I promise. Yeah, I may not be home all day but I'll be there at night. I wouldn't move back to L.A if I couldn't see my family." He says hugging her. When she lets go she says, "Are we still going to come back here?" "Only for holidays or whenever we want to." He says. "Alright, I guess I'm ready to leave then." She says grabbing her stuff.

Andrew reaches down and grabs his and says, "We'll be waiting in the car." They walk out and Alx says to me, "Are you sure you're ready to move?" "I'm positive." I say. He walks over to me and kisses me and says, "Could you promise me something?" "What is it?" I ask. "Promise me that no matter what, you'll never leave me." He says. "Alx, you know I won't leave you." I say looking up at him. "Last time we ever in L.A I was drugged and you got accused of cheating on me." He says.

"We'll be okay this time, you don't associate with certain people anymore so don't worry about anything." I say putting my arms around his neck. He bends down so I can hug him better and he says, "I just don't want anything to happen that will ruin our marriage. Whenever Zane showed up here I thought you were going to leave me considering he was with you first." He says.

"I would never leave you for Zane. When I dated him I had feelings for you and he knew that, but he asked me out anyways because he thought he could change my mind about you and fully love him. Which didn't work out so well because here I am all of these years later married to the man that I've loved since I was fifteen." I say.

He kisses me and says, "I'm glad you chose me over him. Without you I probably wouldn't be where I am in life and I wouldn't have joined vine. You made me the man I am today and I'm so thankful to have you right here beside me." We hear a horn honk and I say, "We should get out there before they throw a fit." He laughs and grabs my hand leading me out of the house.

We drive to the airport and when we get out, a girl walks up to Alx and asks, "Can I take a picture with you and Emily?" He looks at me and I nod so he says, "Sure, Andrew take the picture if you don't mind." We take the picture and the girl thanks us. When she walks off, we all go sit down and wait for our flight. While we're sitting there, someone walks up to us and says, "Emily can we talk?" I look up to see Zane standing there staring down at me.

"You're not talking to my wife so go back to where you came from." Alx says. "Please, it's really important. I promise I won't bother her no more after this." Zane says. "No, I'm not letting her go anywhere with you unless I'm there." Alx says. "Alx, let me handle this." I say standing up. I motion for Zane to follow me and we walk to a quiet hallway.

"What do you want?" I ask. "I wanted to talk to you about our kiss. All I wanted to ask was if you felt anything when it happened." He says. "I felt nothing Zane. If we were still teenagers then yeah, maybe I would've felt something, but now I only feel something with Alx." I say. "What if I could make you love me again?" He says. "Zane, stop wasting your time on me. I'm not worth it." I say walking away.

"Yes you are worth it, I've loved you ever since we were fifteen, there's nothing you can say or do to make me feel different." He says. I continue to walk away and when I get out to where Alx is, I see him kissing a woman. I walk up to him and before I can pull the woman off of him, I see him kissing her back.

"You asshole!" I yell. Alx jumps and his eyes widen and he says, "Emily it's not what it looks like." "Really? Because it sure looked like you was enjoying that kiss." I say. "Babe I swear I didn't, she came up to me and kissed me." He says trying to touch me. "Get your fucking hands off of me. I never thought you would do this to me Alx." I say on the verge of crying.

"Will you please leave?" The woman says. I look at her and recognize that it's Gabbie. "Let me tell you something you slutty bitch, all you have done is try to ruin mine and Alx's marriage. When are you going to realize that he doesn't want you? All you do is throw yourself onto guys and they all reject you because you use your body to get attention. You are the biggest slut I know and if you think I'm going to give Alx to you then you better think again. I don't care who you think you are, stay out of my fucking marriage and mine and Alx's lives." I say.

She looks at me with wide eyes but walks off. I look back at Alx and he's sitting in his chair crying. "I'm sorry Alx but I have to go." I say turning around. "Babe, you don't mean that." He says getting up and grabbing my arm. "I do Alx, I can't do this anymore." I say. "No, no, no you don't mean that." He says trying to hold the rest of his tears in.

I start walking away and he says, "Please don't leave me, I need you more than you'll ever know." I continue walking away and I hear Alx say, "Emily please I need you! You're my rock and my wife. You're the reason why I wake up every morning with a smile on my face. You've given me the most amazing children in the world and a new meaning to life. I can't imagine a world without you, you light up my world and make me the happiest man on the planet. If you walk out that door I promise you I will kill myself. I won't be able to live knowing that I caused you so much pain, that I made you unhappy. I don't deserve love, hell I don't deserve you but you've stayed with me though everything. Please don't leave me, I'm begging you."

I stop walking and turn around to look at him. He's on his knees staring at me with tear-filled eyes. I start walking back towards him and he stands up pulling me into his arms. "I didn't kiss her back I swear. I was trying to get her off of me-" He says but I cut him off by kissing him. "Don't worry about it please and before you ask, yes I'm staying." I say.
