🎤 Tell me little about yourself?

My name is Asemahle Gumede, I'm from Zimbabwe (in Africa) and I'm 15 years of age.

🎤 As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

Honestly speaking, I remember wishing to be an athlete because I watched a lot of Olympic re-runs with my dad.

🎤 When did you write your first book and how old were you?

I started writing on Word when I was like 12, just random blurbs of stories. Then I eventually found Wattpad when I was 13 and started writing there.

🎤 What inspires you to write?

I think my love for books and stories! ❤️I love reading and in some way, I wanted to write something that I would read.

🎤 What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

That creating different and diverse characters is quite difficult sometimes. As well as that it's possible to dislike some of them😅

🎤 What do you think makes a good story?

That's a tough question! 🤔 I feel like any story can be good as long as the storyline/plot has a sense of realism to it, meaning that readers can relate to certain aspects of it.

🎤 Do you have a favourite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special?

Yes, in my book 'Stolen Pain' which was formally known as The Art of Love. I wrote a character named Charlotte Anderson. She's the protagonist actually. I love how I can hate her and love her at the same time. Since, in the story she's going through multiple challenges with her family and even though she seems to be battling internal depression she always finds a way to overcome it. This showcases her strength and I love her for it! 💪❤️

🎤 Does your family know you are a writer? If so, what do they think about it?

Yes, my mother is an English Lecturer and I think I got my love of books from her. They know I write but they're not aware of how passionate about it, so much so that I feel I could make a career out of it. They support me in everything I do and I'm so grateful for it!✨
