"We have arrived, Napito."

They had named me "Napo" as a particular guy called "Napoleon" because he was strong. Although while they decided, they said that I looked like I was wearing a jacket and boots because I had black feet, a white chest, and green wings. That reminded them of those paintings where there were humans dressed like that.

He made me climb onto his hand, and we got out of the car. I recognized the songs of various parrots. The place was very rustic, with many trees and gigantic cages with plants inside. It took me a while to realize that the birds were flying inside.

"Look who we have here," a local human told me. They had a habit of talking to me; according to them, this was how they showed affection. Anyway, if they treated me well, everything was accepted.

"Napo is now ready to go in with his people."

"Over here, please..."

We continue, passing cages of macaws, birds of prey, white-winged turkeys, and other species that I already knew—all in trouble, like me. I was amazed when we entered the cage; it was so huge that humans also fit without problems. There was a tree inside, a place to eat, different play areas, and a small pool of water where I saw some red-crowned parrots.

I heard calls from my kind, and I answered them, very happy. The human left me on a dry tree branch, full of toys, and I started walking. I saw them retreat, and sorrow wanted to overwhelm me. I called out to them with a whistle.

"You'll be fine, Napito," she soothed me.

"We will come to visit you often, okay, boy?" He spoke.

I answered them with another more complex whistle and watched them go.

"Parrot Chicken?" Asked a parrot from a low branch. I turned around and saw Parrot Wing. "Parrot Chicken!" He flapped happily.

"Parrot Wing!" I replied in the same way.

"Come, I'll show you the place!"

He flew away, and I followed him. Such was my surprise when I saw others like me on another log with toys, but it was even more so when I recognized one. I turned and went towards them, my heart now pounding my chest with happiness and excitement.

"Dad!" I got in behind him.

He turned around and was amazed. We greet each other with songs and noises of happiness.

"Parrot Chicken, I thought I was not going to see you again," he said sadly.

"Almost not; it was not easy." I was sobbing like a parrot.

"Everything is fine now, son."

"And mom?"

He was silent and no longer had to answer directly.

"Life is like that... But she closed her eyes, hoping that we would get you back." I nodded, and we snuggled. "Everything is fine. Once we are a good number, they will take us back to the jungle, to a protected area."

That made me happy.

"Hey Parrot Chicken, I'm waiting for you," Parrot Wing insisted.

"I'm going!" I replied with renewed happiness.

"Go, son, have fun."

I took off and went with my friend.

I thanked in my mind those animal friends that I had, who helped me, and that I was not going to see again. To the humans who treated me well. To all. I told them I was okay, and I hoped that they knew it in their hearts somehow. To all of them: see you soon.
