Hanna Delacroix laid her head on the hard pillow on the uncomfortable rack in the barracks of the Allied base she was staying at. She was used to this lifestyle and has been for a while now but sometimes it bothers her. With a sigh, Hanna got up and went outside to go look at the stars. If she was lucky there would probably be some French soldiers here aswell so that she could talk to them. She walked around and saw Seamus and Jack talking together in a language she can't speak nor understand. Jonathan was cleaning his M1 Garand, with his face paint off which is rare. Hanna shivered from the cold night breeze that passed and decided to put her leather jacket on all the way. She continued on her way out to the nearby poppy field that she likes to look at the stars or rest at. She walked for a couple of minutes until she found her favorite place at base. She started to walk through the large field of flowers. She felt peace and tranquillity for once in these tough and unsure times. In the darkness, she saw the silhouette of a American soldier but, strange. The American Soldier wore gear like Jonathan's, signifying he was a paratrooper. He was tall too, taller than any man she had ever encountered before. She hesitantly approached him and could see more about the person. He has a US helmet with a camouflage wrap and leafs on it. A white spade was painted on the side of it too. He also has a pair of goggles resting on his helmet too. Hanna looked more closely, he seemed to be around her age. She was 21, he looked to be in his early 20s aswell. Hanna also made out the face paint that Jonathan always wears. Green and white lines and swirls that didn't camouflage anything. Mounting enough courage, she began to walk over to him but the closer she got, the hotter her face became and a weird warm feeling in her chest started. It felt as if butterfly's fluttered about in her stomach as she was in touching distance of the American. She slowly reached out her hand to tap him when a twig under her foot snapped. The American jumped and whirled around with his Garand, aiming it straight at Hannas head. Hanna nervously smiled and waved at him, causing the soldier to sigh and lower his rifle. Hanna looked at his Garand and was quite impressed. There was an assortment of grass, leafs, and twigs wrapped on the front that was held by a camouflage net. The stock of the rifle was wrapped in what appeared to be a bandanna that was red in color with white stars. "Jesus woman I could've gotten you killed!" Said the soldier but Hanna didn't understand. "Quoi?"(what?) asked Hanna. "Ohh. Your that one French girl. Umm... Qu'est-ce que tu fais là dehors?" (What are you doing out here?) asked the Soldier in fluent French. He spoke in a low voice that only made his French sound as if he were from Paris. "Je suis venu regarder les étoiles, qu'est-ce que tu fais ici?"(I came to look at the stars, what are you doing here?) responded Hanna. "Je suis venu faire la même chose en fait." (I came to do the same thing actually) said the American while shouldering his Garand. The two looked up at the night sky, searching for the constellations. Hanna felt nervous around this soldier but she felt soothed and calm too. The two talked and laughed which only strengthened their bond. She learned his name was Ramos. Was part of the 101st airborne, 506th parachute infantry regiment, 1st demolition section to be more exact. It was still pretty chilly so Hanna self consciously cuddled against Ramos and soon fell asleep, Ramos smiled at her, noting how cute she looked when she was sleeping, and followed suit. The two slept in the large field of flowers, feeling the most peace they've had in this strange time. It was just the two of them. Everything in the world was non existent. It was just them.
