Maite has been hospitalized for almost two months since the accident. The first weeks were difficult, the painter needed a lot of care and attention, especially now that her body is affected by the accident and requires dialysis treatment to stay healthy.

Of the physical wounds there are almost no traces left, some scars, but the wounds of the soul are still open. Dr. Palacios, in more than one follow-up visit, has suggested to Maite that she consider therapy with a mental health professional, to help her work on what is still very much alive in relation to the accident.

Angela, in order to take care of and accompany her wife, relegated her work on the last novel to the last minute, and Arturo Silva, her literary representative, has been pushing for the writer to sit down in front of the computer again and resume what she had started at some point now that Maite is feeling better and can stand on her own feet to a certain extent.

- Good morning doctor! with her characteristic smile Maite welcomes him the last morning he would remain hospitalized.

- Good morning Maite! How are you feeling today? asked the doctor with his unmistakable kindness.

- Eager to go home with obvious anxiety acknowledged the painter as she rubbed her legs.

- How are you coping with the pain? asked Antonio when he saw Maite's gesture.

- Better, it goes better...

Since the accident the brunette has had difficulty standing for a long time, but the hardest thing for her has been living with almost constant pain.

After several high-field and complex studies, the doctors discovered that Maite suffered a displacement of one of her lumbar vertebrae due to the impact of the crash, which have remained pressing on a couple of nerves, causing her to suffer from severe numbness to prolonged and painful cramps at times.

The physiotherapy these last weeks have helped a lot so that the pain is not so severe and the numbness so prolonged, but in front of this picture there is not a solution one hundred percent successful, your picture can improve almost 90% as long as you are orderly with the sessions and exercises.

Dr. Palacios recommended her to consult Dr. Felipe Alvarez Hermoso, a specialist in traumatology, for advice on another treatment. The orthopedic doctor said that she could have surgery, but that it was a risky operation and the results of improvement were neither a guarantee nor a certainty, so Maite discarded that option completely.

- Bonjour! With a large bouquet of flowers Sophie entered the room.

Sophie, has been a fundamental pillar in Maite's recovery. As soon as she heard about the accident, she postponed her return trip to France and helped Angela to take care of her, exchanging herself during the week to take care of her friend and thus allowing Angela to return to the apartment to get cleaned up, eat something and rest for a few hours.

- Good morning doctor greeted the doctor with a typical French double salute.

- Good morning, Miss," replied the polite man.

After completing what was to be the last control examination and giving her the final indications and recommendations, Dr. Palacios signed Maite's discharge.

- Well Maite, I hope you take good care of yourself," said the doctor, shaking the painter's hand affectionately.

- I assure you," the brunette promised with a big smile.
