Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart, What is a Hero

Chapter 1: Who are you?

It was a peaceful day in the wonderful kingdom of Pure Heart Valley, the sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, the birds were singing and on days like this, something had to go wrong right? Yes. In Pure Heart valley, there are tons and tons of monsters, from giant frost monsters to large slime creatures or even a fire-breathing dragon, to most that seem scary to face but to those who live there, that is only a typical Monday. There were still more than just monsters, there were the sky pirates or con men tricking the people- or well inhabitants of this valley; the Sweetypies, a small and adorable race of animals that look like stuffed plushies, just don't squeeze them.

And what is it that protects these Sweetypies you may ask, well in the past it would have to be the Ruby Pure Heart, a giant gem atop of the castle of Pure Heart Valley keeping the valley safe from harm, that was until it was damaged and cracked making it lose the power to keep the valley safe, but now there is a new savior to keep the valley safe, The hero of the valley, his name is Mao Mao the appointed sheriff of the land, and both he and his friends have sworn to defend the valley at all cost from all threats?

Like right now. In the middle of the forest of the valley, the black cat named Mao Mao who wore a red cape wielding a golden sword was fighting a large wolf-like monster with its back covered in black spikes. Mao Mao dodge attacks from the monster, he then rolled to the side and made it to under the monster's stomach and slashed at its underbelly but its coat of fur was strong as steel and once he found this out he ran to get some distance from the monster.

"Need some help, Mao Mao?" Said the voice from nearby, it was the voice of eyed cyborg badger named Badgerclops, partner of the hero Mao Mao and so far his closest friend he has. Who used his robotic right arm to scan the monster. "Dude, its fur is almost like steel but its back seems to be its weakest point."

"Thanks for the information, now how to get it back with the spikes all over it?" Mao Mao questioned himself. The monster looked as if it was ready to charge at Mao Mao until something landed on its face, a smoke bomb. This made a large cloud of smoke that blinded the monster for a short moment, Mao Mao looked up with a smile to see his little deputy, Adorabat, a Sweetypie with a small blue bat body with a yellow heart on her chest and a peg leg replacing her right leg, she was dropping smoke bombs on the monster to distract it.

"Take that you big meanie face!" Said Adorabat with her innocent voice. The monster looked outraged and the spikes on its back launched off like rockets, Adorabat with no time to hesitate dodged all of the spikes to avoid getting hurt, Mao Mao was now surprised and outraged at the monster for trying to hurt Adorabat and charged at the monster and jumped over and while in the air Mao Mao slashed at the monster's back, causing it to go off-balanced and making it land on its side.

"Take this!" Mao Mao said as he readied his sword; named Geraldine. "Lunar Lash!" He then slashed at the monster which had finished it off once and for all. "Adorabat, are you okay?" Mao Mao asked while he put away his sword and the others walked up -well Badgerclops walked while Adorabat flew- to Mao Mao.

"I'm fine Mao Mao, you were awesome!" said Adorabat as she was flying loops in the air, full of excitement.

"Yeah, I already know." Mao Mao said with a smile.

"Yeah, you did great out there." Said Badgerclops finishing up on turning his robotic hand back to normal, the trio walked through the woods to go home all without knowing something was watching them. "Hey, do you guys ever have the feeling someone is watching you, and then something bad happens? No, just me? Okay."

Elsewhere far away from the Valley, in the middle of the ocean, there was a large fortress made of metal, it looked to be mostly a prison on the water. It was in the middle of a major storm and on the outside it looked as if it was impenetrable with cannons everywhere and towers to keep watch, but no one would think about the inside. Inside of the fortress, there were not that many organic guards, as the prison was full of metal robots that looked like full suited armored knights with either a sword and shield or with what looked to be blasters all to keep in the prisoner within the walls, that's right there was only one prisoner within there.
