Emma's POV

I walked to the back door, turning the knob and letting myself in. It was warm inside, but the air was frozen with tension, just like it always was.

Walking down the hallway towards the bedroom door I started to feel  excitement flowing through my veins.

Yes let's hurry! Let's burn them fast so we can be free!!

I stopped walking.

Voice? I asked

Yes Emmy?

Am I in your body or are you in mine.?  I asked, even though it wasn't a really question.

W- well I suppose I'm in yours. The voice answered almost.... nervously?

Really? Because the way you're talking to me so casually has been throwing me off. I will certainly burn these people, but I will do it at my own pace... do you understand?

The voice broke out into hysterical laughter.

Yes Emma I understand. I was wondering when you were going to correct me, good job you are now fully in control. It congratulated me.

I always been in control, I just forgot who I was.

But never again.

I walked in the bedroom quietly, the room reeked of vodka.

I hate that smell.

Walking on the side of the bed where he slept peacefully, I grabbed the rather large bottle of vodka and poured it around the bed, soaking the sheets in it. If he wasn't so blackout drunk I'm sure he would have woken.

Next I grabed the lighter, holding it tightly in my hand I lit the candle that was next to the bed and let it sit there.

Walking out of the room I grabbed another bottle of vodka walking up the stairs letting it spill, making a sloppy trail behind me.

When I reach the top the door to the master bedroom where they slept was wide open. I ripped part of my shirt and stuffed it in the bottle with the remaining vodka. I lit it on fire and threw it at the wall, right above their bed, quickly closing the door and breaking off the rusty door knob. I could hear their screams perfectly as I walked down the stairs, and back into his room.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem that he could. I knocked over the candle and jumped back as his bed burst into flames, waking him up as he screamed and thrashed trying with all his might to get away.

Just as I felt, completely, and utterly helpless No escape when it surrounds you.

Try all you want. Scream as much as you can, no one will come for you. They're used to hearing screams of pain, and horror coming from this house.

I stood up bracing myself and ran through the flames, my clothes catching on fire as I jumped out the window of his bedroom. Screaming and rolling on the grass, effectively putting out the flames before I was seriously injured.

I yelled at the top of my lungs.

Fire!! Please come quick my brother is trying to kill himself, please help me please save my family!!!

The tears streaming down my face were really from the smoke,
but were taken as pure heartbreak and horror, as people come out from their homes to witness the glorious flames.

Someone surrounds me with their arms, gripping my head and telling me I'm going to be okay, as they call the police.

I looked up and everyone. The entire neighborhood, was surrounding me. Offering me words of comfort. The same people who ignored my pleas, same people who ignored my bruises, my broken bones, my skinny frame.

Those very same people are the ones who are now taking credit for my rescue.
