The darkness hugs the slim shape of my body, my shadows casting across the wall in camouflaged black. I silently creep forward the unmoving body ahead of me. I slip forward, always making sure my footprints lay soft against the hardwoods of the house, just close enough to see the constant rising and falling of his chest against his white bed shirt. I flung the steel knife out of my sleeves and let it rest gently in my palm, watching the moonlight glean off of the sparkling metal as it enters the sleeping man's chest. His eyes shot open for a second, suddenly realizing what's happening before the fear in his eyes turned into lifelessness. And he was dead.
