Skyler stark, daughter of the infamous Tony Stark, mourns for her father. She mourns for the woman she grew to love and adore as an aunt. She mourns for her uncle who left her with no one else, who left his best friend alone. She mourns for everyone she ever lost in her life.
In a desperate attempt to go back to a time where she was happy, to go back to where she didn't lose everyone she loved, she starts modifying the time machine her father helped build. It took her a couple of days to figure it out, hours of her time she worked tirelessly, trying to figure out a way to go back without having to use Pym particles.
She knew if she asked for Pym particles, she wouldn't get them.
Everyone knew if she was to go back, she wasn't going to come back.
There was nothing left for her in 2023.
One night she was fiddling with the machine wires when she heard a weird noise come from it. She came out from the bottom of the machine to see the flooring blinking. She climbed up onto it to see if the prongs of the machine were malfunctioning also. When she saw them starting up, rushed to get off the platform.
She didn't make it off the platform.
Instead, she was sucked into a vortex, one she didn't know how to get out of.
She was consumed in a swirl of blue and purple, her destination was unclear.
Finally, she escaped the endless tunnels and instead of blue and purple, she saw a swirl of blue and green. She was spinning out of control, falling out of the clear blue sky of Scotland. Her back slammed into the hard ground, knocking her out for a minute.
When she opened her eyes, she saw nothing but bright blue skies and vividly green trees. She tries to sit up but groans in pain, grabbing her head and squeezing her eyes shut. She falls back on the ground, head pounding like it was about to explode. She would have stayed that way had she not heard footsteps approaching her.
Growing up the way she did, she knew how to defend herself so she proceeded to pretend that she was still knocked out as the footsteps got nearer. As the footsteps grew got louder, she registered voices along with the pounding on the floor. She concluded that it wasn't just one set of footsteps, but 4. She got a little worried that there were 4 instead of one. She didn't know what these people were capable of.
But then again, these people didn't know what she was capable of either.
As their footsteps got nearer, her anticipation grew. She heard them stop right next to where she crash-landed. There was complete silence for what felt like hours, but in reality, it was only 10 seconds.
The 4 boys had no idea what happened, they had no idea what to say, no joke to crack. They were left speechless by the mysterious girl lying in a pile of dirt. Just as one of them was about to approach, her eyes snapped open.
She jumped up and looked at the boys around her. They were all wearing the same uniform, and they all pulled wooden sticks out of their robes, getting into a defensive position. Seeing the wooden sticks, she knew they stood no chance.
Why would you pull wooden sticks out on a potential threat?
She opened her hand and a burst of purple light came out of it, making the wooden sticks fly from their grasp she then focused on the earth beneath their feet, and soon after, roots started to grow out of the ground, surrounding their ankles, growing towards their torsos. They weren't able to move. They were twisting and turning, writhing, trying to get out of their trap but they couldn't.
She summoned the wooden sticks to her hands and examined them. They all had different intricate designs. She admired them, she had never seen anything so unique.
Head still pounding, she asked, "Where the hell am I?" She looked up from them to see a gigantic castle in front of her. She looked back at them, observing them in their struggle to try and get out of their trap. As she was observing the boys in front of her, her eyes stopped on one of the 4.
"Pietro?" Skylar couldn't move her eyes from the boy who looked like a carbon copy of her best friend. Tears formed in her eyes as the events of his death kept replaying in her head, the guilt she had been trying to suppress since the incident started to bubble to the surface. Too distracted looking at her dead best friend, she didn't see 2 figures rush out of the huge castle.
The one who looked like Pietro went to respond but before she could get a response, she felt something hit her. the last thing She remembers is being lowered to the ground slowly then, everything went black.
The roots around the boys released and they all rushed to grab their wands. They looked up and saw Dumbledore and professor McGonagall rushing towards them. Professor Dumbledore raised his wand, bringing the unconscious girl with it.
"Why is it when something happens, it's always you 4?" McGonagall said to the boys.
"Trust me, professor, I've been asking myself the same question for 6 years," Remus responded to her, his eyes trained on the unknown girl.
Professor McGonagall lifted her want and ropes spewed out of the end of it, wrapping around the girl. Dumbledore turned his back on the boys and started walking back towards the castle dragging the girl with him.
"Well let's go boys, we don't have all day," She told the boys and briskly followed dumbledore through the doors. The boys stood there stunned before they registered they had to follow the 2 professors to their headmaster's office. They scrambled to keep up with them, all wondering the same thing:
What the fuck just happened?
